Society becomes more advanced everyday, but no one knows what an advanced society is like. Fahrenheit 451 is a book taking place in 2026. Books are banned at this time and a fireman 's job is to destroy them. Guy Montag, a fireman, burns books every day for the government . One day, Montag meets Clarisse, who is a wise girl who loves books. After they meet Montag starts to think about his society and questions job. Fahrenheit 451 is a warning to society nowadays shown through technology, violence, and distractions. Technology is one way the book is a warning to society. Hounds are made to kill anyone that breaks the law. The government doesn 't care if violence is used, its part of life. “A four inch hollow steel needle plugged down from the proboscis of the Hound to inject massive jolts of morphine and procaine.” (Bradbury 22). If someone is doing something wrong the Hound will attack violently. When someone dies they are brought to the incinerator and everyone seems like nothing happened. This is a warning because in the future violence could be over used and part of life, but no one would notice because violent actions would be used everyday. Secondly, in Fahrenheit 451 violence is amusing to their society. The government wants to put on a good show for everyone to enjoy. “The search is over, Montag is dead; a crime against society has been avenged.” (Bradbury 142). In the end, the government couldn’t find Montag, but because everyone was watching the search for him on their TV’s, the government killed an innocent man pretending it was Montag. The society was glad Montag was dead, even though it wasn 't really him. In the book death happens frequently, and it 's enjoyable to them. Violence in the book is a warning because in the future, violence could have a huge impact on our life. If violence starts to grow like Fahrenheit 451, everyone would enjoy seeing the death of others too. This could also turn society against each other with too much violence. In Fahrenheit 451, technology, violence and distractions are used as a warning to society. First of all, technology is constantly around their society and is getting better. If this happens to our society many would not be engaged with their life Secondly, in the book distractions are created to create a better society, but this creates emotion to be fake. This could change society drastically now days . Lastly, violence is used to entertain, and if violence is amusing, more deaths would occur each day.
