There was many unforeseen consequences of the American Revolution. The war had brought glory for the generals, death to the privates, wealth for the merchants, and unemployment for the poor. No one was more invested in this idea of the American project than Thomas Jefferson. When time progressed, Jefferson understood the Revolution as first a social project, the logical peak of the Enlightenment, that had more to do with a remodeling of the society along new republican axes and axioms, as an example,making the transfer of cultural and intellectual power to the new world easier than combining political rights and republican government.
