Many students sometimes just leave out of high school and don’t even bother going to college due to the amount of time they think is going to be wasted. College does take a lot of time from a person’s day rather it be with being in class or doing homework , but the end result of it all is well worth it . Being able to spend all this time and money for college can be stressful, sometimes even difficult but being able to finish and get a diploma will prove theater hard work pays off. Although finding a job after college can sometimes be the most stressful thing to do it will all turn out for the better. Many times some people can’t find a job in the city or state they currently live in but other places may have the dream job they’ve been looking for since leaving college.
However, more and more students are now opting to join trade schools instead of colleges after their schooling. It is increasingly being considered as a better option than college. This is partly due to high costs of college education these days as well as the students wanting to learn more and better than they can in colleges. College education is lengthy and a bachelor’s degree usually takes four years to complete.
In his Essay “Are too many people going to college,” first published in a 2008 issue of AEI, Charles Murray explores many insights onto the topic of furthering education as well as exploring various other options to pursue after high school. Who exactly would think that too many people are going to college? Well with more and more students flooding campuses at the end of every school year and less and less going into trade schools, a shift in the job market is just beginning to be seen on the horizon. Charles Murray’s essay “Are too many people going to college” shows that not only are there other avenues to pursue a potential life long career, but that much of the time pursuing these avenues may offer better results for some wanting to go to college.
By waiting to go to college, one is prone to prolonging the decision to return to school, therefore generating the possibility of not going back at all. For this reason, making that decision to continue on immediately after high school, one will stay motivated, which in turn will open new doors and new opportunities. Studies show that if one completes a degree program; one is more likely to get a higher paying job. Most high paying jobs also come with benefits. These benefits include insurance, paid time off, 401K plans, and more.

Since at least the 1970’s, the topic of year-round schooling has been debated by many people. This new system is spreading across the nation fast, in fact, in 2011-12, there were about 3700 schools that operated on the year-round schedule. (Zubrzycki 1,3). Like any other controversial topic, there are both benefits and drawbacks to the year-round schooling system. For instance, a definite benefit would be that, “...with one group of students always on vacation, a school that was built for 750 students can serve as many as 1000.
Is College Worth the Cost? Life’s success is achieved in different ways. (Director, n.d.) A lot of television programs and magazines instills the idea in us that being successful means; having a fulfilling career, having a lot of money and being powerful. Most religious and spiritual organizations, in contrast, claim that success means being at peace with God and finding spiritual happiness.
I wish to attend college to further enhance my education, to be a first generation college student, and to become a better version of myself. First, I wish to enhance and further my education. Knowledge is the key to success and those keys can unlock doors never before seen. A high school diploma is great but it is not enough for me or any huge company.
Attending college right after high school or waiting to attend has no right or wrong answer. It would depend on the individual situation. It not only will have to do with some may not being academically prepared to attend college but not having the financial resources necessary to enroll. I went to college right away, my husband worked for about ten years out of high school before deciding to attend college. If you can transition well to a college environment right out of high school, then that might be the path for you.
Public school: The right choice to make A person’s childhood is very important especially when making decisions, interacting with others or any other normal everyday activity. These essentials are left out by parents when putting their kids in homeschool. Public school provides many more benefits for a student. Public school is more beneficial for a student than homeschool for the following reasons: social skills, cost, and opportunities.
Having a degree in Psychology is beneficial because it is connected to a lot of career opportunities. It means that you have different options at hand. Studying Psychology is not just about improving one’s self but it can be a stepping stone as well to a great future. This degree means having a career of your choosing while enjoying what you are doing. By taking Psychology, you can learn how to understand other people and their behavior, the chance to do research and studies that can help humanity in the future and having a chance of developing a productive and working mind.
The benefit and purpose of school is to gain new knowledge and socialize with other people. The importance of school is taken to consideration as it helps you to meet the grades that you need to go further in life, and the skills/knowledge that can be accomplished and improved. School opens up a lot of opportunities for young people because it is the one place where they go to get new life skills and experience. School is somewhere where young people are able to practice their techniques/learning and form social bonds with other students. School is not just for learning but also for young people to help from in a way that they can also build their social skills and attributes when interacting with other students.
According to John Bishop, “School and homework show students the important life lessons, such as how to read and communicate with others, that they will use as an adult.” Students can learn how important planning, staying organized and taking action is just from doing homework. Homework gives the students an opportunity to learn how to work independently. Although I understand that assigning homework is not beneficial at times, I still believe that assigning homework can teach students many skills and even help teachers. Assigning homework to students is constructive, therefore teachers should assign homework because it allows students to gain responsibility, time-management, perseverance, self-esteem, homework also gives students a chance to review the class material, and it also helps teachers determine how well the lessons and materials are being understood by their students.
