One of the detectives investigating the crime talked to Timothy Cole in a parking lot near the crime scene. Since Timothy was black and close to the crime scene she thought that Colin could be responsible for the rape.
The detective followed Cole and took a Polaroid picture of him. Latter the detective showed the picture of five suspects including Cole. Cole’s picture was unique due to two facts (1) he was the only one facing the camera with and (2) he was the only one with a Polaroid picture. Mallin identified Colin as her aggressor.
The next day the police conducted a line-up and Mallin pointed Collin as her aggressor one more time. Based on Mallin’s identification, Cole was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault.
The judge was terribly unfair, he did not listen to any of the logical facts the defense attorney presented to protect Colin from injustice. After an unfair trial In September 17th 1986 Colin was sentenced to 25 years in prison. It was really sad due to the fact that Timothy Collin was only 26 years

It’s been eight years since Malik received the guilty verdict and was sentenced to life without parole in the California state prison for the rape and murder of his ex-girlfriend Sara Bolson. He spent everyday crying not because he was guilty but because he was about to spend the rest of his life in prison for a crime he did not commit. New victims with the same M.O. as Sara’s killer have been found all over the city of Los Angeles, so the detectives thought that it was possible that the wrong guy was put away and that the killer is now resurfacing or they may have a copycat trying to be like Malik. However, the three bodies found in the past two weeks had the same bruises and strangulation marks around the neck as Sara did and there was evidence showing the same type of drug used to subdue the victim.
The Superior Court decided that Coker should be sentenced to death. Coker then appealed to the Supreme Court of Georgia, which also affirmed and sentenced Coker to the death penalty on the rape charge. The Supreme Court of Georgia upheld the death sentence because the rape was committed during an armed robbery (a capital felony), and by someone with previous sententences. Coker appealed again, and the case headed to the US Supreme Court.
A prison sentence is designed to punish people who break Society’s laws, but that isn’t always the case. In March of 2016, Star Student athlete Brock Turner at Stanford College was convicted of sexually assaulting an unconscious and intoxicated woman behind a dumpster, while he also was intoxicated, he was possibly facing ten years. June 2nd, 2016, Turner was sentenced to 6 months in Jail by Judge Aaron Persky, his reason being that “A prison sentence would have a severe impact on him. I think he will not be a danger to others” (Why Brock Turner Only Got 6 Months in Jail, 1). Although his sentence was light, he also had to register as a sex offender.

Innocence is is a lack of guilt, with respect to any kind of crime, or wrongdoing. In a legal context, innocence refers to the lack of legal guilt of an individual, with respect to a crime. Being convicted of a crime and found not guilty later on can frustrate the convict and the convict’s family as the time spent behind bars, is time they will never get back. James Richardson was convicted and charged for murder and rape in Cross Lanes, West Virginia on May 18, 1989. First, Richardson noticed the neighbor’s house burning.
All around the world criminals have the motivation to commit crime. One evening Ms. Harper asked for a bike ride from Mr. Truscott but it turned to a sexual assault and murder case. It shocked the community and country as a whole which later paved the way to amend capital punishment. It is agreed that Mr. Steven Truscott committed homicide. This argument will be proven by a physical examination, forensic evidence and eyewitness testimonies.
The Indian Act was first proposed in 1876. It was mainly used as a way for the federal government to control aspects of First Nations lives. During the 1880’s the federal government told Aboriginal families that if they wanted their children to have an education, it was to be done under them. These institutions would be known as Residential Schools. Residential Schools were not good for the First Nations due to the education being taught was there to “take away” the aboriginal heritage within the children, in other words, to make them act like they are not of First Nation descent.
Grady Franklin Stiles Jr. may have been his birth name, but Grady Jr. was more frequently referred to as “Lobster Boy.” Grady Franklin Stiles Jr. was born on June 26, 1937 in Pittsburgh, Pa., with the genetic deformity ectrodactyly. Ectrodactyly is an inherited condition that can affect the fingers and the toes. Individuals with this condition are born with fingers and toes that are fused together, causing these extremities to resemble a claw: Hence his stage name, “Lobster Boy.” Grady Jr. was the sixth generation to be born with this condition, which started in 1805 with William Stiles.
Antonio Beaver is an African American male who was wrongfully imprisoned for a carjacking which occurred on August 15th, 1996, in St. Louis, Missouri. The situation that Beaver was involved is a great example of how innocent people can fall into being victimized for crimes that they had no involvement in. Antonio had no reason to be involved in this crime that had taken place. Here is written evidence that will prove why he did not deserve to be stricken from the years he lost as a free man.
In 1987 an African-American male, Timothy Foster, was convicted of murdering a Caucasian female in Georgia and was sentenced to death (Vogue 2016). The prisoner’s appeal process worked its way up to the United States Supreme Court, arguing that he was convicted because of racial prejudice (Vogue 2016). Notes obtained from the prosecutors of the case revealed that they did not select certain jurors because they were black and that the jury was all white (Vogue 2016). The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Timothy, which was in accordance with the already established anti-discrimination precedents set by the 14th amendment and the 1986 Supreme Court decision in Batson v. Kentucky (Vogue 2016). This case is important for several reasons.
