Throughout history, many government systems have been created to guide countries. I think United States represents Democracy by choosing its President, freedom to petition the government, the different points of views Hamilton and Jefferson had for the United States and the Declaration of Independence. Before the United States won their independence, they were under control of the British Monarchy, which was a government where a king or queen has all the power. During this time, most of the Colonists ' (Americans ') rights were taken away. This means that a random person cannot be eligible for the Presidency of the U.S. According to the article, "No person except a natural born citizen, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to that office who shall not attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen years within the United States," (page 23, paragraph 4, lines 12-16). The author is saying that for an aspiring President of the U.S. to be elected, they must be over 35 years, a natural born citizen and have been living 14 years inside the United States. This means that someone aspiring President without these characteristics, will not be elected. The U.S. represents Democracy by choosing its President because a random person cannot be elected to be President, which makes part of the Democracy government we have. In Thomas Jefferson 's "Declaration of Independence" is discussed what reasons led to the United States to break away from Great Britain. After they broke away from Great Britain, the United States finally won their independence. According to the article, "When Britain then tried to recover the costs of the war by taxing the colonists, they rebelled, (page 109, paragraph 2, lines 5-7). The author is saying that after the French-Indian War, Great Britain wanted to tax the colonists to recover their lost. Americans thought that the British government was abusing of them, and they rebelled. Most of the colonists were in favor of the United States breaking away from Great Britain. After a long process after this happened, the United States won its independence in July 4, 1776. The U.S. represents Democracy after they set their new government after breaking away from the British. The British had a Monarchy on them. After they won their independence, they set a Democracy government and Federalism (weak and strong central government power shared), almost all the contrary to how British Monarchy worked. This is important because this shows why the United States broke away from Great Britain and set a new government very different to Great Britain 's type of
