There is love at first sight but is it true love? In the book “Romeo and Juliet”, Romeo and Juliet may show signs of love and say things like “I would die for you” but is it coming from the heart or are they just saying it. They had only truly met at the Capulet’s Ball but Juliet is already saying “ My only love sprung from my only hate.” (1.5, 136) This shows that Juliet found love at first sight. Also, although Romeo was obsessed with Rosaline, he had confessed, talking about Juliet saying “It is my lady, Oh it is my love. Oh, that she knew she were!”(2.2,10-11)This shows that Romeo fell for Juliet too. This had only happened the night of the Ball. Despite all this lovey dovey stuff, what really shocked me was Romeo’s comments about juliet. I quote “ The …show more content…

She is blinded by love that even his darkest actions are always melting her away. A sign of her love for him, she once said “My bounty is as boundless as the sea, My love as deep; the more I give to thee, The more I have, for both are infinite” (2.2,133-135) This shows that her love for him is beyond. Also, another line she says that mentions her love is “To lure this tassel-gentle back again! Bondage is hoarse and may not speak aloud;”(2.2, 162-163) This shows that she’s always thinking of him, always wanting to call for him. She speaks, she claims, and she thinks but is it true.
There is love at first sight but is it true love? Sure Romeo and Juliet would die for each other but that doesn’t prove true love. Romeo was obsessed with Rosaline until the Capulet’s Ball. The only thing that attracted Romeo to Juliet was her beauty. So what I’m saying is Juliet is a rebound to Romeo while Romeo is different towards Juliet. To sum it up, Romeo may mean quite a lot to Juliet and although Romeo says he loves Juliet, is it coming from his heart or is he just saying it to make himself and everyone who knows believe that he loves
