Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th president of the United States. He was born in New York and was known for being extremely active while in the White House. He lived to the age of sixty and is lived one of the most exciting lives of any president Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27th, 1858. Growing up Roosevelt was a sickly child who often fell ill. To Maintain a healthier condition he did weightlifting and gymnastics. Roosevelt went to Harvard, graduating in 1880 and going to Columbia University Law School where he met and married Alice Hathaway Lee. Roosevelt’s mother on Valentine’s Day, 1884 and on the same day Alice gave birth to the couple first and only child. A few hours later Alice died of Kidney disease and Roosevelt named their daughter Alice in honor of her. Grieving, Theodore left Alice with his sister and went to the badlands of the Dakota Territory. After returning, he married a close friend from his youth named Edith Kermit Carow. While in office he tried to bring the United States out of isolation and create relationships and alliances with other countries. He believed that America should “speak softly and carry a big stick.” With the alliances he wanted with other countries he also wanted defense, so he built up the United States’ navy making it one of the best in the world. While in office he also helped panama secede from Colombia and he helped build the Panama Canal. He won the Nobel Peace Prize for helping end the Russo-Japanese war. While he was in the White House he continued to box and is considered one of the most active presidents while in the White House. Theodore Roosevelt had many accomplishments, and most of them were not during his presidency. There were many other important events that happened before his presidency, and some of them affected Roosevelt’s life tremendously. From October 27th, 1858 to September 14th, 1901, the amount of important events relating to Roosevelt is astonishing. Roosevelt had done many things during his early life like helping others, reading, writing, hunting, and much more.
Theodore Roosevelt accomplished many great things as president. He was an important and well know figure. He was a young Republican who took unexpectedly took office after the assassination of President William McKinley. There was a different kind of energy Roosevelt brought to the White House, and ultimately won a second term. He even ran again for a third term under the Progressive Party but ended in being a failed run.
Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27, 1858. As a child, he was also timid and nervous. In fact, he had to be tutored at home by his Aunt, Annie Bulloch. He lived in a house with two sisters and a brother. His father made his fortune by being a banker and importer of glass.
Leading his party and country into the Progressive Era, he championed his "Square Deal" domestic policies, promising the average citizen fairness, breaking of trusts, regulation of railroads, and pure food and drugs. Making conservation a top priority, he established myriad new national parks, forests, and monuments in order to preserve the nation's natural resources. In foreign policy, he concentrated on Central America, where he began construction of the Panama Canal. He also greatly expanded the United States Navy and sent the Great White Fleet on a world tour to project the United States' naval power. His successful efforts to end the Russo-Japanese War won him the 1906 Nobel Peace

Theodore Roosevelt also known as Teddy was born on October 27th of 1858. He was born into a wealthy family in New York . Teddy was said to be a sickly boy, bus as a teenager her was involved in a gymnastics and weightlifting program so that he could become a stronger man. As this young boy he spent a lot of his time in his family's great brownstone, which is also where he was homeschooled due to being so sickly.(Theodore) Teddy went to Harvard from 1876-1880 and his hard work did end up leading him to Columbia University Law School. While still in College he met a female named Alice Lee, who then became his wife.

Roosevelt also pushed to have the pure food and drug act. He served in the presidency from 1901 to 1909 and was known as one of the ablest presidents and an icon of the Progressive Era.

Attended Harvard and Columbia Law School before he went into politics. 1910 he won the election to become New York senate and while in the senate he was appointed to be assistant secretary of the Navy. He then was elected in 1928 to become governor of New York. When Roosevelt was nominated the Democratic Party he was willing to apply governmental influence to the failing economy.
Roosevelt cared for his people and tried to make them have a safer and healthier life. Without many of Roosevelt’s caring and long-term leadership qualities America wouldn’t be the same as it is today. If Roosevelt did run the country today he would run it with many other qualities

On economical terms, Roosevelt was the trust-buster, breaking all of the bad trusts in big businesses. He also was the president who enforced the Sherman Antitrust Act. Socially, he preserved millions of acres of land, entitling citizens to interact and have leisure time, and wildlife to prosper.
