In the 1950’s and 60’s some US citizens were thriving but others felt alienated and abused with each passing day. Martin Luther King Jr was a man who not only fought to end the alienation and abuse of many but he fought for what he believed in; he believed that everyone should live together in peace and harmony. This brave man was the main face of the civil rights movement. His fight for equality would be worked towards for decades to come. Martin Luther King Jr was a positive social leader because he fought for what was right, he was a kind man who fought for civil rights and influenced a nation.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a sympathetic leader who took everyone 's feelings into account and appreciated them. In the 50’s and 60’s he was willing to die for what he believed and was appreciated for the way that he handled conflict. Martin Luther King Jr. did his best to include any and all individuals, because he knew “civil rights are about the fair and equal participation of all citizens in the American community” (Whitehouse). No matter what, he would let anyone listen to him and march with him; he also proved that he was willing to put his life on the line for what he believed in. Another way that Martin Luther King Jr showed his kindness was by helping lead people towards their goals. His goal was apparent when “he had been in Memphis to help lead sanitation workers in protest against low wages and intolerable conditions” (Griffin). When he heard this news he leapt into
