How does bullying affect someone's life? In the story “The Most Dangerous Game”, General Zaroff relates to a bully in multiple ways. Like a bully, they often seem nice and friendly, to gain a person's trust and befriend them. General Zaroff conducts himself as a gentleman to Rainsford, befriending him by giving Rainsford shelter and food. Then, a bully will pressure that person into bullying others, much like how Zaroff pressured Rainsford into hunting humans. If that somebody does not want to bully, much like how Rainsford did not want to hunt humans, the bully will turn and harass that person, like how Zaroff hunts Rainsford. Connell demonstrates in his story “The Most Dangerous Game” that bullies can seem nice in the beginning. When Rainsford meets General Zaroff, the General seems caring and invites Rainsford into his home. Rainsford found the general “a most thoughtful and affable host,” much like how a bully would seem friendly. Bullies will befriend a person they do not know, just as Zaroff befriended Rainsford. This relates to how General Zaroff pressured Rainsford to hunt humans. When they to know the bully after the he befriended them, the person will start to notice odd traits about the bully, just as Rainsford started to notice bizarre traits about Zaroff. That person will start to notice that the bully who they thought appeared to seem as their friend, bullies other kids, like how Rainsford realizes Zaroff hunts humans. The General states “I’ll wager you’ll forget your notions when you go hunting with me,” meaning that Rainsford will forget his morals when he attempts hunting humans, like how a bully would deny feeling wretched for bullying when they perform the action. If a person reject the offer to bully, the bully will turn on him, just as Zaroff turned on
General Zaroff’s attractive and handsome presence hides his evilness from Rainsford as he enjoys the general’s assistance and attention. The general makes

When people are put into extreme situations, they are forced to do everything necessary to survive. In the short story, “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, Rainsford is stranded in the middle of the Caribbean on Ship-Trap Island. On the island, Rainsford is forced to play General Zaroff’s game.
General Zaroff said “I’m going now to have my wound dressed, it is only a slight one, but I shall be back.” (Connell, 26) The author states that Rainsford is very intelligent. He uses his hunting experiences to try and outsmart Zaroff and uses his knowledge to figure out what to
He honestly wanted to befriend Rainsford, but once things go opposite of how he wanted, he decides to try to kill him. Zaroff believes that he is the top of the food chain, above humans that he considered “scum of the Earth”. Zaroff is not well mannered or respectful when it comes to fellow humans. Zaroff even captures humans and keeps them
Rainsford also exhibits courage by doing anything to survive. During Rainsford’s first meal with the general, Zaroff tells of his hunts, expressing the rush he gets from his kills. Rainsford is appalled, telling him it is murder, and would not take part in what Zaroff planned. Of course, he had limited options and ultimately was forced to participate as the newest quarry. However, when the third day of the hunt was nearing completion, Zaroff, Ivan, and his hounds were hot on Rainsford’s trail.
“I refuse to believe that so modern and civilized a young man as you seem to be harbors romantic ideas about the values of human life. Surly your experiences in the war ."Did not make me condone cold-blooded murder,” finished Rainsford stiffly.” (Connell 9) . Since Rainsford is upset about Zaroff's comments we know that he will do something to shift the power towards him but that will happen further in the story.
Though Zaroff initially appears to be a huge fan of Rainsford and a good man, it is soon revealed that the general spends his time hunting humans out of boredom,

Two hunters are on a yacht in the Caribbean Sea, when one falls off and washes up on an island. There, he meets General Zaroff, a man with only one desire. To hunt humans. He makes Rainsford (the man from the shipwreck), go loose on the island in order to hunt him.
Also, General Zaroff is an extreme hunter and doesn’t find pleasure in hunting regular animals. Zaroff says the most dangerous game is humans because they have the ability to reason. Rainsford is going to be hunted and is given a certain amount of time to survive. Moreover, while Rainsford is being hunted Zaroff
