Some of the taxes that were implemented onto the Americans were the Sugar and Stamp act, Navigation act, Wool act, Hat act, the Proclamation of 1763, the Quartering Act, Townshend Acts, and the Coercive Intolerable Acts, (Document Five). Each one of these added more stress on the colonist persuading their final decision of starting a revolution. Not only did the taxes install hatred into the colonist but also events and actions that the British did harmed their cause. Those events included; the boston massacre, the French Indian war, Boston Tea Party, and many more, (Document four) As seen the British lead themselves onto the wrong path by trying to tighten their grip on the colonist but ended up hurting themselves when their actions added more fuel to the Americans fire.

However, Parliment saw a need to help out the British East India Company, who at the time had the largest surplus of tea on hand and needed help selling it. Parliment did not view this as a punishment to their fellow countrymen in America but as a way increasing revenue to help the British East India Company which in turn would have been beneficial to all involved [3]. Another reason colonists did not approve of the Tea Act is that the Townshend Revenue Act tea tax remained in place. This tax was one of the taxes that insulted the colonists. Since the new Tea Act began the sale of tea by representatives of the British East India Company directly to the American colonies, colonial merchants felt the act illegally granted a monopoly to the British East India Company.

Natives of Boston were unhappy with British troops being sent to Boston to implement the Townshend Acts. It was a demonstration made to bring the incomes gathered up in the states to pay for the governors and judges, likewise to raise charges on glass, paint, oil, lead, paper, and tea. The British was not the American's most loved individuals so acquiring them to execute this simply made it most exceedingly bad. So, in March 5, 1770, a crowd of about 50 people started tossing things at the soldiers like snowballs, sticks, stones.

“Taxation Without Representation”         American colonists thought that Britain was taxing them unfairly for the expenses caused during the French and Indian war or that Parliament had the right to tax them since there weren’t any American colonies represented in Parliament. Since the American colonists drank a lot of tea, Britain decided to impose taxes on the American colonies. Because the taxes increased, the American colonists started to smuggle tea from the Dutch and other European countries. The Boston Tea Party was the first significant act of defiance by American colonists and was one of the things that lead to the start of the American Revolution, which began in Massachusetts on April 19, 1775.        

The British wanted to gain control over corruption, where the colonists settled, and to improve revenue. Therefore, the colonies began to boycott the imported British goods until further notice that the Stamp Act was revoked. Another group, consisted of women, the Daughters of Liberty, was established in efforts to boycott clothing and tea imported by Britain (Schultz, 2013). Furthermore, the group of women started producing their own clothes. People who chose to wear these clothes were considered as protesters.

The British would, however, gain momentum in 1759 with multiple victories, including their most significant triumph, Quebec.

As a result of this tax, colonists in Boston rioted and destroyed the house of the stamp distributor. News of the protests spread and inspired other colonies to protest. As the taxes angered more of the colonists, they began to boycott all British goods. Boycotting of British goods and ending trade with the colonists would greatly hurt the economy in Britain. When the colonists started to boycott, Britain's economy was not strong enough to sustain itself without trade with the colonies.
