Writing is an essential part of an individual’s success. Writing comes in many forms, and it is not only used in an English course. It can be an email to a college professor, a resume, a lab report, a hotel review, etc. There are countless forms are writing, and it is important to understand how to approach each piece of writing. Writing is part of an individual’s daily life, and understanding the importance of rhetorical knowledge, genre knowledge, and audience awareness with make it easier to approach different types of writing, and ultimately improve one’s writing skills.

I found student essay number two to be more free of error than student essay one was. Even though it had less issues in it, it still was not perfect as it is very hard for anyone regardless of academic status to write without error. The three main problems that I found in this essay were spelling, usage, and formatting. Spelling was an issue for the writer of this paper in a few different instances. The errors were small, and I did not find any huge glaring issues, but nonetheless, they were still issues.

When it comes to writing a paper, letter, thank you card, etc., it is difficult for me. The reasons why writing is hard for me is because, a lot of times when I write I get distracted by, other people, thinking about something else on my mind, instead of what I am writing, finishing up my chores, etc. Also, when I write my grammar is incorrect, for example, pronoun errors. In other words, “Everybody don’t care if they hate it or not.” That was wrong, but the correct way to write it is, “Everybody don’t care if he or she hates it or not.”

Transitioning from high school to college can be overwhelming. Before English 1301, I did not worry about preparing for college. I quickly realized that my little background in writing essays was not enough for college courses. Writing is not just a skill that I will need for English classes. In college, I will have to use effective writing skills in all my classes to complete research papers, essay tests and communicate with professors.

Before taking writing skills two I 've had a positive mindset towards writing because I see it as a way to express my thoughts. For example, whenever I feel a bit melancholy writing a short story or just free writing always makes me feel a bit better. On the other hand, I don’t believe I’m the best writer because like every other student I make mistakes in my writing. Although, I don’t take the editing negatively I always look back at my past essay and try to reflect on them to see how I can always improve my writing skills. Overall, I have a pretty good mindset towards writing even though I have my mistakes I know if I study harder I can become a better writer over time.

Although my writing skills aren't quite ready for high school-level writing, I'll still learn from my mistakes and expand my knowledge. The middle school experience after 7th grade is very crucial. Once the 8th grade hits, that's when the education in high school is taught

The analysis of evidence-based foundation of writing instruction is extremely important. Troia (2014) states “Writing is critical to student success in education despite the importance of this success in writing is a struggle for a large segment of the population, and nearly 75% of the nation’s children and adolescents are not able to produce texts are judged to meet grade level expectations”. Writing is extremely important to people because the future holds a high expectation for students to learn to write because jobs are requiring higher expectations for their employees especially being able to write. Writing in everyday life is very important to keep students and adults functioning in life and to be able to succeed and support themselves

* What do you think is important to teach kids about writing? The most important thing that we have to teach kids is to find their “voice”. We can teach all the rules and conventions, and the proper organization of writing, but if they don’t have that “voice” it will leave their writings dull and lifeless. I think if we can teach children to do this first before all the rules, they will learn to love writing and not despise it.

The ability to write well is very useful for our personal and professional lives. It helps students, business people, politicians, writers, bloggers, marketers and everyone who has ever needed to arrange words together to convey ideas or opinions. The written word has become an essential means of social communication: mastery of it helps you to enthrall and persuade an audience that would look upon you favorably in return. It goes without saying that learning how to create compelling content is a part of one’s success as an online publisher. Reading widely and deeply while consistently honing your writing skills helps a great deal in bettering your prose.

Writing is a professional skill essential to be able to strive. (Mascle, 2013) Having great writing skills is an important asset to be able to thrive in the business world. Many people do not consider themselves writers, because they have jobs where they think that it is not a required for them to improve their writing skills. (Mascle, 2013)

What is Good Writing? Writing can come in all shapes and forms of different quality. We write because we are reacting to someone or to something. From elementary school to now we learn the different ways on what to write and how to write it, sometimes we write because we want to, or have been required to for someone to understand the same ideas in a different form.

To a 13-year-old teenager in high school, who you are means everything. You are the outfit you decide to wear to school, the way your hair sits on your head, the way you read a passage in class, and the speed at which you walk in the halls. Other students know when you wear the same shirt twice, get a bad and embarrassing haircut, or mispronounce a word while you read a passage aloud, and they will call you out for it. They will comment on the attributes that you are most sensitive about—ones you may not be able to control—making kids dread walking in the halls alone because of their awareness of the whispers coming from the groups of students as they walk by. Self-consciousness develops with every move you make and every word you say.
