Prompt #1:
In a connected system of parts the arrival of something new requiring shared resources will change the system. Different variables affect how society interacts, down to how a single person acts. This has been happening from the beginning of living organisms. Ecosystems change, environments collapse and new technology is introduced. For example, western expansion less than two hundred years ago would not have been possible or as successful without the iron horse also known as the train. During the early colonial period, South America was one of the earliest continents to be affected. Native tribes often had to transition to a new way of life as the spanish brought new weapons, tools and materials that changed their system.

There cannot be an ecosystem or environment without some form of diversity. Forests that dominantly had only one type of tree are hugely in danger of destruction. This destruction will not come from human hands, but from nature itself, as diseases can easily devastate the environment. With diversity, the system can remain healthy for if one type of plant is wiped out, there are many others to take its place and fill the gap.
The Florida Panther is in grave danger of becoming extinct very soon. There are fewer than one hundred of them left in today 's wilderness. There are ways to breed them which will create more, but there are dangers of inbreeding because of low diversity. Side effects of inbreeding include things such as high mortality rates, diseases and infections. To counter this, scientists are breeding Florida Panthers with Texas Cougars to create more diversity to create healthy systems.
-”Panther Helpful Websites” by SES Community Capra explains that diversity must be used to create a more resilient community. For example a “community lacking diversity, such as monocropping agriculture devoted to a single species of corn or wheat, a pest to which that species is vulnerable can threaten the entire ecosystem” (25). If agriculturists would grow many different types of crops making the network more complex, there will be less of a chance of the entire harvest being

The price of Ivory is now at the highest price it has been, because of how much cultures value it. Cultures value Ivory for its beauty, as well as its ability to be shaped into artistic creations. In today 's world thousands of Elephants are killed only to take the tusks to sell to these cultures that believe it to be so valuable, which are mainly China, Japan, and the United States. If this resource was not considered so valuable the Elephants would not be in danger of extinction.

If you walk into most households around the United States, most families and individuals would argue to you that recycling is very important. These people say this because they believe that what they are throwing out is valuable enough to pay for it to be recycled and turned into new items of value. However, the article Recycling Is Garbage claims that recycling these materials that have been deemed as valuable to be pointless. There is not necessarily a right or wrong answer, but if you choose to believe the resources that we throw away every day to be valuable, then your actions will be based on that principle.

Key Concept 1.1: As native populations migrated and settled across the vast expanse of North America over time, they developed distinct and increasingly complex societies by adapting to and transforming their diverse environments. Sub Concept I: Different native societies adapted to and transformed their environments through innovations in agriculture, resource use, and social structure. Topics Notes A.)
It seemed as if 2 different worlds were separated by the Atlantic. It wasn’t until Europe discovered the Americas and its treasures that they soon would experience a dynamic change in economic status, way of living, and so forth. Unfamiliar foods, crops, animals, and diseases were both spread among the 2 locations. Europe seemed to gain much of the benefits of the Columbian Exchange while the Americas experienced a sharp demographic decline. America provided Europeans with high nutrient and yielding foods such as, maize, potatoes, tobacco and cacao.
The Columbian Exchange affected the global economy several different ways. The Columbian Exchange established slavery, spread silver, and spread cash crops throughout the world. The triangular trade was also a major part that emerged from the Columbian Exchange and influenced slavery, the spread of silver, and the spread of cash crops. During the Columbian Exchange, diseases spread around the world. As the Spaniards explored and exploited the New World, diseases spread to the New World and took out millions of Native Americans.
The Age of Exploration began in the early 15th century and ended in the early 17th century. There were many events that affected the Native Americans. Here are some ways that the Native Americans lives changed as a result of the European colonizations of the New World. One way is food since, the Native Americans did not know many foods. Another way is diseases because the Native Americans had no immunity to them.
The European conquest on the peoples had a great impact on the ecologies of the Americas, both positive and negative. In the beginning, for example when Francisco Pizarro began his conquest of the most powerful state in the New World, the Incan Empire, he brought many new things. He brought the knowledge of utilization of domestic animals, such as cattle and horses, to be beneficial to the whole society. The knowledge of using their muscle to capitalize on productivity of farmland, something that the Incas never had. James Diamond supports this by showing the great geographical advantages that the Europeans, especially the Spanish, had to their Incan counterparts.
People should be able to feel good about the places they live in. The easiest thing to do can be to recycle
Good morning/Afternoon, The Florida Panther is a highly endangered species. Endangered species are a native species or subspecies that is in serious danger of becoming extinct throughout all, or a significant portion of its range as a result of one or more causes. Today I will be answering a wide range of questions about the Florida Panther. These questions include: Where does it live, what it looks like, what is its habitat, why is it endangered and what are we doing to protect it.
First , many people have heard of the phrase “Go Green” which basically stands for recycling and reducing the amount of waste. “ Waste Not, Want Not” is an essay written by Bill Mckibben. He goes into great detail about how wasteful America really is. I couldn't help but agree with this essay because the things we do in our everyday life are slowly destroying our earth. We as Americans often get more of things than we need.
The following are reasons why recycling is important to America; one, so we don 't cut down so many trees, two, it saves energy, three, previous global warming reduces water pollution, and five, it reduces waste. All of this keeps the country a nice place to live, work, play, and make friends. We take advantage of the freedom,
Imagine living in a world where the air is polluted and most people are afraid to step outside their front door, in the near future, this may be reality for Americans. Americans throw out over 200 million tons of garbage a year, yet recycle not nearly as much. Most people do not realize it but recycling is a vital part of America’s society and if Americans do not perform this action, it will backfire on them. People in America are debating whether Americans are recycling enough and correctly. After analyzing the data, one will definitely agree that Americans need to be more educated on recycling due to the fact that most people do not know what happens after they recycle an item, nearly all Americans are recycling incorrectly, and Am To begin,
Trees are a substantial factor of how people survive. Pollution is disturbing the clean air we need to breathe and making people sick. The amount of garbage laying around on the side of the road is ridiculous. All over the world people are littering, polluting, and destroying the Earth. It has been happening since as far as dates go back to.
Moreover, zoos always respond to emergencies, such as deadly threats to one or another species, by providing specialists and establishing breeding and treatment programs (Borrell 9). Thereby, both articles express the opinion that zoos are important for conservation purposes as they provide a wide range of specialists and research data. More significantly, they react on emergencies and do their best to protect endangered
Equally important, recycling creates a profit by selling recycled products to nations across the world. Recycling the abandoned materials means that they have to be sold as well. The Environmental and Energy study institute, a nonprofit organization in Washington DC states, “How Better Recycling Can Minimize Waste and Boost the Economy” by Ellen Vaughan, “In 2010, the U.S. recycling industry sold 44 million metric tons of recycled materials valued at almost $30 billion to over 154 countries around the world…” (Vaughan). This shows that the United states is receiving a profit by selling materials that people have already used and are being used again by other people in other nations. These nations will pay the United States and do what these
There is it carved into luxurious items, further fueling a multi billion dollar trade (The Ivory Game). The less elephants their are, the higher the value of ivory. Essentially, traders of ivory want extinction due to the increased value of ivory that would come with it. Business owners in China request permits from the government in order to sell ivory. These businesses are then allotted a certain amount of ivory that they can have.
Now we are talking about recycling. So, what actually does recycling means? Turning used materials that are labeled as recyclable over to your local waste facility designated in a disposal container as “recyclable” materials to be taken and reused as material for a new purpose defines recycling . In order to create a new and different product, a recyclable product is turned back into a raw form that can be used. Recycling efforts can significantly reduce additional waste that will not only harm the planet today , but future generations as well.
