He then turns around to warn then against being trapped by those who don’t march into their faith. But while avoiding them, Ignatius encourages the Christians to continue praying for those against their faith. He cautions the Christians at Smyrna against boasting on their positions but instead take note that faith and love are to be their only preferences. Further on in his letter, Ignatius directs the Christians at Smyrna, to pay their attention to the prophets and much more to the gospel as in it comes up a clear picture of the passion and the real happening of the resurrection is seen.

These include for military leaders the gaining of power and territory and for the ordinary participants it was the deep religious fervour and the promise of absolution that drove them to join the Crusade. The crusades were a series of eight holy wars fought by the Christian crusaders and the Muslim Turks. They began as a way to gain control of the sacred places that were important to each religious group, most notably the Holy City of Jerusalem. The Third Crusade was a three year long war between the Christians and Muslims under very prominent rulers like Richard the Lionheart and Saladin. It was arguably one of the more successful crusades, even though the main goal was not achieved. Even though the Holy City of Jerusalem was not taken back from the Muslims, the Third Crusade was successful to an extent because of the battles won, the strong leaders involved, and the outcomes of the various treaties as signed by the Christians and Muslim leaders

Religion and its various ideologies played a key role in advancing the authority of the Ottoman and Catholic Europe; it also influenced the way they confronted outside powers and people from other religions. The Ottomans where an Islamic ruled empire which brought about a certain ideology that gave them the God given rights to the earth. Catholic Europe also had this ideology from where God gave Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven and endowed upon them earth as well (Matt 16: 19). The catholic church in Europe seemed to have their hands in the cookie jar of European Medieval Government and some what controlled the kings and nobles.

More people started to practice the Christian religion and soon, so did the government leaders. When that happened, Christianity began its takeover on Rome. In the church there were two popes who had different ideas on small issues but very huge in their religion. This became very controversial and soon both of the popes excommunicated each other,this was called the Great Schism, this occurred in 1054. This Great Schism created two branches of Christianity, Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox, this caused a split in the church but it allowed the churches to have their beliefs and take their own actions. In 1060 the church tried to conquer Spain, where the Muslims were causing the Spanish Reconquista. This Reconquista can show us that the Roman Church was gaining control and power, and

Goodman Brown’s “prolonged resistance is a denial of the wishes that are the source of his projections” (Levy 4). After seeing all the people falling into sin before him, Brown finds difficulty not to. Humanity struggles with this everyday. Claudius’s letter relates to the constitutional relations between the Jewish and Greek communities in Alexandria, as it portrays a key attribute that is irrelevant to our present purpose. Pray for the Romans, worthy of honor, worthy of the highest happiness, worthy of praise, and worthy of obtaining desire which presides for our love for the Lord.

Pope Urban then called upon many Christian followers and said that God was beckoning them to go on the Crusades to take back the holy city of Jerusalem. The Pope recruited people by using reason of religion to convince people to go for the Emperor because religion just played as a recruiting factor since Christianity was already a widespread

Introduction The book of Romans was a letter the Apostle Paul wrote to the Church of Rome, on his way to Jerusalem. Written in the expectation that he would eventually visit Rome himself, the epistle is written as an exposition of the Gospel as Paul, a Jew, understood it, and delivered to the church of Gentiles, in order to inform them and give them a more solid grasp of what it was they stood for and believed in. Being a man whose ministry held some controversy with people who believed that the Jesus’s message of salvation should not extend in the same extent towards the Gentiles, Paul felt that an establishing of goodwill between him and the Roman Church was necessary. As such, Romans in particular is an epistle addressed to people who did not know Paul personally, and as such it is written to be comprehensive and systematic .

After Constantine committed these horrible crimes he went to clean himself of what he had done. To Constantine’s surprise the priest told him there was no way he could be cleansed of such horrible things. Constantine soon after met a man who told him that the Christians who tell him how to be cleansed of his sins. After this Constantine realized that he had been told his future of how he would do great things, was nerves that it would happen to someone else so he had them all destroyed.
