The boy who got into the fight got a lot of consequences for what he decided to do and lost things that were important to him. The narrator got consequences for his actions because one of the consequences that he got from deciding to fight was humiliation. When the fight got started and Mike, the kid who was fighting the boy, he got on top of the boy . He stated, “For a moment I felt very light, almost lightweight.” He also stated, “I sensed that I was getting what I deserve.” At last he also said, “So I gave: I gave him the fight, the love notes, the phone calls, the envy, the adulation , and the arrogant hull of who I have been” These all connect to my claim because he choose to fight. He would buy prescriptions he didn't need. The police said that he bought 19 necessary medicines. And it was all from concussions.

The Scar Boys by Len Vlahos is a wonderful example that having perseverance can push you to reach your goals. Through the use of character, situational, and symbolic archetypes, Len Vlahos develops the concept of “perseverance” by showing the group of companions always sticking together in gritty situations, and how they persevere through that moment. Through the book, the group becomes a band, “The Scar Boys.”
In paragraph six of Guys vs Men Berry says “although I can’t define exactly what it means to be a guy I can describe certain guy characteristics.” Berry goes on to define the characteristics that make up a guy as, liking neat stuff, liking neat challenges, and not having a well-defined moral code. Berry organizes his essay by listing each characteristic and describing them with stories and examples to support his claims. One example Berry used to define “guys like neat stuff” is with an example of his interest in overly powerful computers. Berry also uses a story about a time where several of his guy journalist coworkers decided to see how fast they could run the forty yard dash to define “guys like a really pointless challenge.”

The story begins with the author’s son, Mike Earley making an unscheduled visit from college. Mike’s roommate drove his back home, claiming “He’s not right.” Mike’s mental illness first appeared in college and progressively worsened.
In the story Kick, the authors use conflict to teach that friendship can get you into trouble and out of trouble. For example, when Kevin says, “I thought about Christy… The cop that had arrested me thought she was just too scared to talk, but I knew there were things that were just too hard to say.” This quote shows how Kevin got into trouble because of a secret that only he and his friend, Christy, knew.
