Cara Knott was a 20-year-old living in California who was enrolled at San Diego State University. On December 27th, 1986, she was driving home from her boyfriend's house. She called her parents to let them know she was on her way home but never got there. The following day, her car was found on a dead-end road. Along with suspicious skid marks (53 between them), insinuating a large vehicle that did not match the car she was driving. Keys were still in the ignition of her car, and her purse was still in the car, implying that it wasn't a robbery gone wrong. Later on, only 75 feet away, her body was found at the bottom of a 65-foot ravine. She had ligature marks on her neck, which caused her to die of strangulation, and a large bruise on her …show more content…
Because she was acting, they decided to take a further look into his alibi and discovered that the place he had written in his notes at the time of the murder was erased and replaced with a different location. With all that, they decided to make him a suspect and investigate him further. On his uniform, they found gold fiber. After doing tests on both fibers, they found that they were identical to the ones found on Cara's body. Match any of the other officer's uniforms. Found on Craig's uniform were fibers from the pants Cara was wearing on the day of her murder . when they sprayed luminol on his truck, investigators didn't find any blood. they found yellow rope under his tires which was tested against the ligature marks on Caras neck it was an exact match. They finally decided to test the blood on her shoes, but the DNA was not positive. Back then, all they had to go off was the blood type, which was type A-B, and when they ran Craig's blood, they discovered that he was also type A-B. It happens to be the rarest blood type. It was also discovered that the trucks found on the road by Caras's body matched the truck he drove exactly over her face and matched the police flashlight. On the evidence, he was sentenced to life in prison for first-degree murder and 25 years in
They even tested a bag that Dennis had taken inside his fathers office on July 6th and came up with nothing. No blood was found on Dennis' Cell phone either. Dennis jacket was then inspected and 5 red spot had been identified. After testing these spots were confirmed to be blood that matched the DNA profile of Richard Oland. He was charged with the second degree murder of his father.
On November 20th, 1986 a young lady, that was seventeen years old, named Madeline Ponds also known as Midge, came up missing. Madeline came up missing one night while she was working at a convenience store called PJ’s one stop, in Columbus, Mississippi. Her mother brought her dinner to the store since she was working late, after her mother left not even five minutes later she was gone. A customer came into the store and started complaining about no one tending the front of the store. There was money taken but it didn’t seem like any foul play went on a detective said.
“During an afternoon search of their Colorado home, Jonbenét’s body was found by her father in the wine cellar, and she had been tied up and covered with a blanket” (Gordon, 5).. The police immediately brought the body to the autopsy to find any clues of who and how she died. “According to the autopsy, JonBenet had been struck on the head with an unknown object with enough force to knock her unconscious, before being strangled to death” (Solin). The autopsy doctor found DNA samples in the child's underwear and in her fingernails “The DNA left in a stain found in the child's underwear reportedly does not match DNA samples provided by dozens of family and
Upon arrival, police entered the home and discovered 26-year-old Shirley Vian dead. She layed on her bed partially undressed, hands and feet bound, a plastic bag draped over her head. Upon removing the bag investigators noted the BTK's signature cord wrapped tightly around her neck. The children managed to free themselves and call the police. Again, investigators believed that the crime was premeditated.
In his car were two blood stains that matched two of the murdered children's
There weren’t any witnesses at the time of murder but she did have two kids, which Graig Hampton claimed that they were at the house at the time of the murder. First we appeared at Randall’s house we asked him some few questions, he didn’t know anything about the murder, in fact he was devastated and started to cry. The second house that the police investigated was Gray, we asked him some few questions about the murder, he denied ever returning back to his mother’s home after they left on December 29th, he also was devastated when the police told him what happened to his mother. Forensic evidence came back, however it wasn’t enough evidence to prove that Graig was the killer, the fingerprint on the gun was Rhoda
December 26, 1996, she was reported missing by her mother Patsy after finding her missing from her bedroom. Only eight hours later was she then found dead wrapped neatly in a blanket down in her basement by her father, John. There have been many suspects who have been cleared, but is it possible the investigators that were assigned the case made mistakes along the way? I think so. There have also been lots of theories.
She parked her car a few apartments down from hers but when she got out of the car Winston Moseley came up to her with his hunting knife. She started to scream and run but Winston caught up with her and stabbed her twice. Then he drove away but not long after that he came back and stole 49$ out of her purse and stabbed her a couple more times before leaving again. She died shortly after on March 13, 1964. Did you noticed that no one called the police or tried to help her?
She wasn’t even far from home but she didn’t return home. Later her family called the police they searched the neighborhood but couldn’t find her, until two days later two teenagers spotted a body near the Rochester suburb of Chili. Months later the police ran into a dead end and Billboards around the Rochester area begged for information about her death, putting up a 6,000 dollar reward for any information but the case still went unsolved.
Police were called the following morning to report that their daughter had gone missing. Police found a ransom note demanding 118,000 dollars, this never came to a complete investigation. Later that afternoon Ramsey's body had been found under a blanket in the basement. The detectives didn't do such a good job with continuing this case. There are multiple theories to this case.
She had been stabbed 39 times in the throat, chest, and lower abdomen. It appeared that the wounds had been inflicted by a small knife-a pocket knife. The exception to this was a large violent through her chest that seemed to be inflicted by a large knife or bayonet. The stab wounds caused people to think she might have been connected to the Jack-the-Ripper murders as well, but the police determined that the wounds weren’t similar enough.
The sheriff department took them back to examine and they found it was the same bullet from the same gun, so they knew they had a serial killer. The third piece they found was a shoeprint in the mud of the crime scene. This shoeprint happened to be from a shoe that was new to America called Avia. Only one shoe of that pattern had been sold in that area. It was hard to track who bought this shoe because it was paid in cash.
When found, her body was unrecognisable according to the Police Officer in charge of the investigation, Inspector Wayne King. Within three days (Thursday 26) of the body being discovered,
September 20, 1984, a twenty-eight-year-old was brutally murdered in her Datsun convertible which had one hundred thousand miles on it. She was found by a couple taking a camping trip at 10 am two days later. The morning before she died, they had seen her walking around alone, while they were hunting squirrels. She was
“But the evidence will show he directed her off the highway to a dark, secluded where he strangled her with a rope and threw her body off a bridge.” Desloup stated (pg 1). As stated in the case, the murder weapon was a rope, as she died because of strangulation. After the murder,
