For this reason, I couldn’t put this book down. In addition the book just left you biting your nails the whole time. I had to include this because if anyone everyone that I know that has read this has said the say thing. This book is a definite nail biter. To conclude this is the BEST book I have ever read! “Cruelty isn't a personality trait. Cruelty is a habit.” The 5th Wave is one of the best books I have ever read! It sends a powerful message to many people to never stop believing in yourself. Always have courage even when times are tough. And never let the someone’s opinion ruin your motivation. I suggest everyone should read this book. And hopefully the Others won’t come anytime soon. “If the aliens ever visit us, I think the outcome would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn’t turn out very well for the Native Americans.” -Stephen
It was 2004, when one of the deadliest tsunami hit Indonesia, killing 126,473 and causing 93,943 to go missing. In the book “The Killing Sea” by Richard Lewis, Ruslan and Sarah have different points of view on the use of a mother. On page 5, the book states that the mother said, “Put on your scarf,” while Sarah responded, “This dress is stupid enough, I am drowning in sweat.” Of course, from these quotes, this tells the reader that Sarah just think of her mother as a authority, which she constantly wants to rebels against. It can be inferred that Sarah and her mother do not have a very tight, well-bonded relationship, due to the tone of the interactions set throughout the book.
The ability to possess strength is built on by a continual commitment to personal values. Individuals who are tenacious and who are willing to have faith in their beliefs are capable of being extremely empathetic and have the ability to identify and connect with others. Strength and empathy work hand in hand to create a strong sense of resilience in the face of conflict. Individuals who are able to act in a resilient manner for their personal values live balanced lives and are successful in upholding personal goals. Throughout Timothy Findley’s novel The Wars, the power of empathy is demonstrated by Robert Ross; an extremely compassionate and caring young man.
I am the one not running but facing. Because if I am the last one, then I am humanity. And if this is humanity's last war, then I am the battlefield.” In the novel the 5th Wave by Rick Yancey, all that is left of humanity is character. Cassie Sullivan, the main protagonist, is a teenager living in a world left in the aftermath of the apocalypse.
After she finally wakes up, Evan asks where they took Cassie’s brother. And as the quote states, Cassie said she was told her brother is going to Wright-Patterson, an “abandoned” air force base. The reader at this point has no idea what is happening at Wright-Patterson, or if it even exists. Meanwhile, as Wright-Patterson, ”Private Nugget, front and center!”(Yancey 222). This is Sammy at Camp Heaven (Wright-Patterson), being put into a squad with Ben Perish.
Cassie heads to the camp Called Cape Haven in hopes to find Sammy. She ends up finding Ben first. This was where Ben and Cassie expected to find Sammy. To remove him from the Others, before they brainwash him into thinking that Humans are Others and Others are
In the future, I can see myself reading the other books in this series written by, Gordon Smith. I recommend this book to anyone that loves a thrilling and scary book. I also don 't recommend this book to anyone who gets scared easily and has
The great Richard Bach once said “Your conscience is the measure of the honesty of your selfishness. Listen to it carefully.” Often people overlook the fact that their conscience is telling them that they are selfish, but it is up to them to fix it. In his novel, The Wednesday wars, Gary Schmidt highlights the dangers of being selfish and self-centered through the changes of Holling Hoodhood.
After reading this book, my view has changed on this statement and I agree with it. Reading this book has changed my view because I now believe after reading this book, books are pointless if no one reads

Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines guilt as “the fact or state of having committed an offense, crime, violation, or wrong, especially against moral or penal law” (Merriam-Webster). In the novel Fifth Business by Robert Davies, he explores the topic of guilt. Published in 1970 (Goodreads), the book goes into detail of a man’s life story and how he finds the deeper meaning of life. One of the main messages of this novel is that a person’s life is dependent on how they make decisions and how they deal with the consequences of it. This message is shown in the novel through the character’s journey to search for the truth.
The book consists of many compelling short stories that revolve around the major conflict, which allowed me to read the book without losing interest. However, the book was not just entertaining to read, but taught me many life lessons and allowed me to realize many important facts. For example, in the book, Denver and Ron are two opposite people that have virtually nothing in common and are actually a little bit scared of each other at first. However, after they decide to reach out to one another, they not only become best friends, but end up changing each others’ lives for the better. This reminded me that I could be a little bit more outgoing and friendly in life, reaching out to other people instead of seeing the same couple of faces every day.
In Neal Shusterman's Unwind, unwinding a child is almost thought of as normal. Unwinding a child is taking the body parts off of a unwanted, troubled, or dead teenagers body and transplanting them to somebody that needs the body parts. The individuals that receive the body parts are known as the " unwinds. " People believe that unwinding a child is not murder because the transplanted body parts live on in the unwinds life. Unwinding children first started right after the Heartland War.
People love this book for a plethora of reasons, but the main reason I come to find is the wisdom laced into every theme, and quotes that will send you deep
The book, Percy Jackson: The Battle Of The Labyrinth, by Rick Riordan is an amazing book about a group of demigods (half human half god) that have to save their camp from being destroyed by the evil forces of Kronos. Kronos is a titan that the gods banished to the deepest part of the underworld (Tartarus) after a war against them. Now that the titans are rising once again, the protagonists must travel through an ancient Labyrinth to stop them from demolishing their camp and temporarily halt them from achieving their goal of destroying Mount Olympus and the gods. This literary analysis will show the interesting relationships between some of the characters, and how the setting that they were in affected them throughout their journey.
Navigating our social surroundings and social interactions correctly can help develop character, discernment, and independence. The social growth of two protagonists was displayed in both Beasts of No Nation by Uzodinma Iweala and Boys Without Names by Kashmira Sheth. Agu, who was introduced in the novel Beasts of No Nation as an innocent, young boy, eventually turned into a ‘beast’ because of several influential factors. Like Agu, the protagonist in Boys Without Names by Kashmira Sheth, Gopal, underwent a similar transformation as the plot progressed. Gopal’s change, however, affected his perception on others and the amount of trust he allows for others.
