Tactics Used In Terrorism During The French Revolution

Terrorism was flourishing in 1960’s America. Nearly every chapter of this book documents acts of terrorism by white people against black people: a leader’s house bombed, a protestor’s face smashed, girls going to church blown up, and finally, of course, Martin himself getting assassinated. MLK Jr. was not a moderate, at least in the last few years of his life, post-1965. During the time of the American Revolution the British Empire was at one of its strongest points. The Colonials consisted of professional soldiers as well as minutemen that had minimal training in comparison to arguably the strongest military power at the time. The Americans developed a unique, complex, and ultimately effective style of warfare to combat this supreme force. While there were many factors that led to the American victory we will look more specifically at the tactics, techniques, and procedures of the actual conduct of warfare they utilized.

Kevin Marcotte Mr. Eaton Period: G 3/6/17 Guerilla tactics of the American Colonials helped their war effort Anyone who knows anything about the American Revolution knows that the Colonist’s militias were known for their battle tactics. They had multiple different tactics but most commonly know is their guerilla warfare tactics. Guerilla tactics were a major reason for the victory of the war. Instead of the traditional warfare Britain used guerilla tactics were more successful due to its sense of surprise.

They justify their bloody acts on social, economic and political unfairness. Or they would take inspiration from beliefs or spiritual principles. Most forms of terrorism were motivated by warfare between races, their were struggles between the rich and poor or battles between political outcasts and elites. Most terrorism are ethnically based separatism movements, like the Palestine Liberation Organization or Republican Army. Former cartel of Medellin are considered the narco-terrorists because all they do is combine drug trafficking with the terrorism tactics to scare and bother the government and population.

America has evolved quite a bit in the last two hundred years, alog with that , the way we fight wars has also changed. During the revolutionary war, the two opposing parties would stand on an open field in lines and take shots at each other. The rebelling colonists did use guerilla warfare quite often though. Guerilla warfare is when a fighting force uses stealth and ambush attacks to beat the enemy. During this time, themain weapon of choice for bothsides was the flintlock musket.

Parmentier WOSSE 18-003 INSURGENCY The Revolutionary war was a catalyst to bring a nation together and introduce insurgency and guerilla tactics to help beat a more formidable opponent. Insurgency tactics used by the militia brought the British Army to a point of shame, by disrupting and wearing down the fighting spirit of the British. We will look at the first insurgency and how militiamen, made of farmers and tradesmen, used insurgency, and guerilla tactics, to wear down the British army and help the Colonial army, win the war.

During the American Revolution, every colonist's life was completely consumed by violence. Great Britain always maneuvered their way into the colonies affairs. Their interference had many negative impacts on the colonists. During the American Revolution, Parliament found many ways to impair the colonists, Great Britain inappropriately restricted Boston, Massachusetts, promoted unfair taxes, and instigated violence.

In our project we will be analyzing the media’s rhetoric of the “war on terror” and the word terrorism. We will also be examining how this rhetoric forms our perception of the word terrorist. Our goals are to explore different aspects in the rhetoric surrounding terrorism and their effects on the viewer 's perception. We will focus on three different topics and each group member will be tasked with mastering one. The first topic will focus on the use of the term terrorist in reference to select individuals.

On November 13th, gunmen and bombers attacked a number of locations throughout Paris, they killed over 130 people, and wounded an even larger amount. ISIS, or IS, claimed responsibility for these attacks. “A group of believers from the soldiers of the Caliphate (may Allah strengthen and support it) set out targeting the capital of prostitution and vice, the lead carrier of the cross in Europe — Paris.” (ISIS Statement 11-14-15). Our fear might actually add fuel to the flame, it is a must that we are not fearful, we ought not to be afraid.

It is one attack after another; countries being bombed or people being killed for no reason.

Terrorists The definition of a terrorist is someone who uses terrorism in the pursuit of political aims. Terrorists can be motivated by religious fervor, or even just greed. The Latin word terrorem is where we get the root word “terror” from. Terrorists like to cause great fear among people to use the situation to their advantage.

The French Revolution was a representation of a time period that was significantly important regarding its social, political, and economical effects. There needed to be social order in the French Revolution in order for it to strive for liberty, equality, and fraternity. Furthermore, the revolution was also a representation of conflict and political issues. Within the French Revolution was the Committee of Public Safety. The Committee of Public Safety was tasked to protect the Revolution from its enemies in order to maintain the stability it needed.

The term terrorism is known worldwide, but lacks a true universal meaning. But then, why people engage in terrorism? Many people (especially young people) respond to the feeling of subjugation and oppression with anger which lead to violence, especially under foreign occupation. In other words, people join terrorist groups not because they are poor; they join because they are angry. To give an example, the Middle East has been under military occupation supported by the Western World for more than 25 years, the result has been a campaign of hatred against the US and its western allies by the people who live in these areas (no by their governments). Another example is the case of Israel and Palestine.

Terrorism causes fear all across the world. People are terrified because of what happens in these attacks. There are many different kinds of fear caused by terrorist attacks. Some react to these attacks differently than others. Many react to these attacks in a constructive and rational matter, this helps to not give the terrorists what they want.
