As found on etymonline, perseverance is from Old French Perseverance, “persistence, endurance,” and directly from Latin perseverantia, “steadfastness, constancy”. These roots of durability and hard work relate to my definition of perseverance, which is the ability to continue towards a goal, despite obstacles that stand in the way. I shortened it because I am too lazy. Maria Teresa shows her courage by helping her sister and other revolutionaries by giving the OAS committee a note with the things that have been happening at their prison even though she can get killed for it. In the quote, you can see that her courage has given her the courage to arrogant about how harshly the government might treat them if they found out about the note. As there are many similarities, there are many differences as well. Anthony is battling for ladies' entitlement to vote and Henry is battling for individuals' autonomy. In “On Women’s Right to Vote” Anthony portrays the victimization of ladies and having the same equivalent rights that men have. One example is, “It was we, the people; not we, the white male citizens; nor yet we, male citizens; but we, the whole people, who formed the Union.
Anthony’s speech was well thought through and it gave off a positive connotation. She argued not as an odd one out but as a fellow citizen. Susan B. Anthony’s claim was that women’s right to vote was not a crime, but she was just exercising her rights as a citizen. She also stated that “It was we, the people; not we, the white male citizens; nor yet we, the male citizens; but we, the whole people, who formed the Union.” here she also used undeniable facts to prove her point.

Ava shows perseverance by not giving up to her teammates and fighting for herself, but JFK showed perseverance by not giving up to hundreds of people and was fighting for hundreds
Anthony’s speech made several logical, ethical and emotional appeals which is what made her empowering and memorable speech set the tone for the women’s rights movement for decades to come. By stating the preamble of the Federal Constitution she built her credibility because it is reputable and it is a document that we built our country on. She effectively relies on the founding fathers and other esteemed members of society to help support her claims. She was able to logically express and correlate that anyone who is born in the united states is a citizen and that every citizen has the right to vote. Instead of just saying that women should have rights they do not have and making an argument, she states that the United States Constitution already guarantees her and other women the right to vote.
