Summary: The Serial Killer Of Nebraska

We are introduced to the author of the book, Bryan Stevenson who is a member of the bar in two states Alabama and Georgia. He then receives a call from the local Judge Robert E. Lee about a case which involves a man called Walter McMillian’s. He knew that he could have gotten into great danger but he decides to do the right thing and confront the case. In the county of Monroe an eighteen-year-old woman is brutally murdered. The murder took everyone by surprise and even after a few days of investigating no one could find concrete evidence to point out who was the killer.

Lonnie Franklin Jr., also known as The “Grim Sleeper,” is a convicted serial killer and is responsible for ten murders and one attempted murder between 1985 and 2007. The killer was given the name “Grim Sleeper,” for his 14-year break from his killings from 1988 to 2002. The killings took place in south Los Angeles, California, where Franklin was born on August 30, 1952. His earliest crime was in 1974, when Franklin was in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany.

She died approximately an hour and a half later. then on March 17, 1987, Nolan Haddon, a 23 year old student, was shot five times while working at Buck's convenience store in Idaho Falls.

Earle Nelson was one of the less well known serial killers in comparison to Jeffrey Dahmer or Jack the Ripper. Yet his crimes were still horrific. Earle Nelson wasn't always insane though, His killing spree was due to the traumatic brain injury he sustained as a child. After the accident which featured him being hit by a car while biking, he was never the same. His mind was forever altered leading to an unfortunate change of character.

According to the Denver Police Department, the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey was never solved. Many investigators spent years trying to reveal the case but somehow there was always a flip side to the story. In fact, fingerprint systems were used on various counts within this certain case. Investigators noticed that there was a great deal more to this case, than Mr. Ramsey was telling officials. According to investigators, Jonbenet had been sexually assaulted within 48 hours of her murder.

Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer (May 21, 1960 – November 28, 1994) , also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal, was an American serial killer and sex offender, who committed the rape, murder and dismemberment of seventeen men and boys between 1978 and 1991, with many of his later murders also involving necrophilia, cannibalism, and the permanent preservation of body parts. He was also diagnosed by psychiatrists as suffering from a borderline personally disorder. Dahmer was found to be legally sane at his trial. He was convicted of fifteen of the sixteen murders he had committed in Wisconsin. Jeffrey was sentenced to fifteen terms of life imprisonment on February 15, 1992.

There is this young man working for this old man who is the nicest person to the young man, but the young man did not like the old man because of his eye. The young man would watch the old man sleep, the old man knew he would stand by his door all night . One day the young man went through with killing the old man, the cops went to the young man, the young man got paranoid and he told the cop and showed him what he had done. The old man’s eye made the young man kill him and the young man got caught and went to jail. “I loved the old man.

One of the most famous stories of Milwaukee’s notorious killer, Jeffrey Dahmer, occurred in 1991. A boy was discovered wandering the streets drugged and confused, he was 14-year-old Konerak Sinthasomphone. The two women that found him called 911; however Dahmer chased after his victim and stated to the police that he was his 19-year-old boyfriend. Without a sex offender background check or age verification, the police handed Sinthasomphone back over to Dahmer.

It bleeds throughout the city and poisons whatever it can curl its talons around. The beast has found an unexpected home in the unassuming state of Nebraska; this terrible creature being violence. The news hardly goes a week without reporting about some shooting here or a bulgury over there. The violence has become such an uncontrollable problem that it touches even those far from the areas considered dangerous. I have lived my entire life in a wealthy suburb on the outskirts of Omaha, but not even I can escape from this sickness that rages across the state.

Even though the old man is good and has never cause any harm to the caretaker, the caretaker wishes to harm the old man. The narrator tells us that he wishes to harm the old man because he has a little and seemingly unimportant detail, his glass eye. The narrator tells us that the eye is like the one of a vulture. The caretaker begins plotting against the old man, he began constantly visiting the old man during the night and watches the old man while he sleeps but because

Jolene wanted to die. Life in that hell hole was absolute torture. The room was windowless and had solid concrete walls. The air reeked of body odor, whiskey, cigarettes, and sex. The only furniture was a single dirty mattress in the middle of the room.

The behavior of serial killers is an interesting topic for me, I grew up watching many different crime-related shows and have been curious how the mind of a serial killer works. More specifically, I am interested in how the media affects them. Some serial killers throughout history have taken a liking to being talked about on the news, some even try to pander to the media. Serial killers like the "Zodiac Killer" were known for creating ciphers and puzzles for the public to solve, assuming it would lead them to a clue as to how to find him or one of his victims. With all these murderers making it a point to get attention from the media, I wonder if it encourages them to kill again.

In the beginning, the man explains his plans, caused only by an eye an old neighbor possesses. The author says, “He had never wronged me... for his gold I had no desire. I think it was his eye!” (page 78).

Clifford Olson was arguably Canada’s first and most notorious serial killer. During his reign, he committed many different crimes, including rape, theft, and murder. He was responsible for the murder of eleven young individuals, which caused pain and grief to their friends and families. Psychopathy is a mental condition found in many serial killers and was the reason that Clifford Olson committed his many heinous murders. A look into Olson’s background and his conduct after committing the murders will provide more than enough evidence to show the clear signs of psychopathy that he displayed.

As Christian Grady stared at the back of the driver's seat in the back of the cop car, he reflected on his day and his life in general.
