The story by Richard Connell, is a story about a man named General Zaroff who loved hunting. Though after hunting all over the world for almost every big game species. He started getting bored with hunting. He thought and thought about how to make hunting more interesting. He tried different weapons such as bows, but these didn’t help either. He couldn’t find anything to make it more interesting. Then all the sudden he had an idea, he didn’t need a new weapon, he needed a new prey. Zaroff’s new prey is human beings. There were only two real hunters in this story, and one person who calls himself a hunter. The two hunters are Rainsford and Whitney, they hunt animals like hunters should. Zaroff said in the story “This is called ship trap island”(Connell, pg. 225) Zaroff changed the channel light in the ocean, to make the ships crash. Everyone that crashed would swim to his island and find his house. Zaroff treated the people nicely for the first couple days. He fed them good food and gave them a nice room and acted like he was trying to help them. Zaroff keep telling his guest how they were going to go hunting together. This had some truth to it they were going to go hunting, his guest was the prey. To make sure the hunt would be exciting he would exercise his victims so they would be in shape for the hunt. Zaroff tried to make his prey better by doing this, he also fed them good food so they would be healthy too. Many of Zaroff guest thought he was joking when Zaroff told them that they were going to be the prey. To convince them that he was serious he would make them spend the night before the hunt in the trophy room. In the trophy room was the heads and bodies of Zaroff victims. After seeing the trophy room many refuse to be his prey, but if they refuse Zaroff’s slave Ivan would torture them until they agreed to it. The people were hunted in the story “Most Dangerous
