Most Dangerous Game Argumentation Paragraph The story, “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell is about Sanger Rainsford ends up on an island with General Zaroff, who hunts humans. Rainsford ends up playing General Zaroff’s game and becomes the huntee while Zaroff is the hunter. Zaroff loses the game and gets killed by Rainsford.

The story “Two Lazy Hunters” is a Cherokee trickster tale. The Cherokee lived in the American southeast region. In particular, Georgia, South and North Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee. Houses from the Cherokee tribe looked like a basket upside down. They were made out of bamboo from the river, tree branches, and were held together by dirt.

Zarroff likes to hunt so much he stops hunting animals and started hunting for people. Zarroff prefers to hunt people rather than animals, because he believes that animals lack reasoning, making the hunt easy for him, and he like a challenge. People provide that challenge he so desires, because humans can reason. Sanger Rainsford and his friend Whitney were traveling to Rio de Janeiro to hunt a jaguar. Whitney decides to head in for some rest, while Rainsford decides to go on the deck for a smoke.

In the beginning, Zaroff hunted animals for fun. After killing every imagined animal, he decided to hunt humans. “There is no greater bore than perfection,” said General Zaroff. This explains why the General was bored after he managed to hunt and kill every animal. After any ship was trapped by Ship-Trap Island, Zaroff would then train the sailors how to hunt.

In the short stories “A Sound of Thunder” by Ray Bradbury and “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, both main characters are great, experienced and risky hunters. Travis from “A Sound of Thunder” takes people through a time machine back in time to hunt dinosaurs. General Zaroff from “The Most Dangerous Game” has found a new interest instead of hunting animals, and he now hunts people. Both of these stories involve hunting out of the ordinary things and show why each character chooses to do so. Although Travis and General Zaroff are both great, experienced hunters, they differ in the game they hunt, their attitudes towards others, and their motivation for shooting people.

To begin with, in “The Most Dangerous Game” Zaroff has unfair advantages compared to the people he is hunting. On page 26 it says,” I give him a supply and an excellent hunting knife. I give them three hours to start. I am to follow, armed with only a pistol of the smallest caliber and range.”

“I am strong, I hunt the scum of the earth”(17). He only kills them because he wants to hunt something that can reason, something that can change its mind when faced with a life or death situation. “But they are men,” said Rainsford hotly. “Precisely,” said the general”(17). Zaroff is an apex hunter, and he demands the ultimate prey.

However, it does not change for the better. In the middle of the story when he finds out Zaroff hunts fellow human beings, to Zaroff's surprise, Rainsford’s thought and reaction is utter shock and disbelief. “‘But you can’t mean-’ gasped Rainsford. ‘And why not?’”(10). Zaroff knowing Rainsford was a great hunter he hoped that Rainsford would accompany him on a hunt; however, Rainsford accuses him of being a cold-blooded killer.

And the answer was, of course, `it must have courage, cunning, and, above all, it must be able to reason… Great Guns, General Zaroff, what you speak of is murder. ’”(Connells 11). Referring to the quote, it exposes how Zaroff tells about the prey and Rainsford got surprised. He even tells Rainsford that he hunts different types of people.

“Hunting people is not murdering”. This shows General Zaroff 's problem , he hunts humans like animals . Most dangerous game is a short story where General Zaroff sets people up to land on his island , where he keeps them captive and kills them . General zaroff should be prosecuted for hunting humans . He kills innocent people , he sets them up so the people can land on his island and he feeds his victims to his dogs .

“The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell is a story about a man, Sanger Rainsford, whose ideals and overall character change throughout the story, specifically about hunting, due to his encounter with General Zaroff. At the beginning of the story Rainsford is a stuck up man. He could not care less about any other living things other than humans. He believes all living wildlife are expendable and only there for his pleasure of hunting. During the story Rainsford has to make many quick and overall difficult decisions during his encounters with the ocean, General Zaroff, and the island wilderness to survive, that change how he thinks about animals.

I have hunted every kind of game in every land. It would be impossible for me to tell you how many animals I have killed. " Here, Zaroff is indicating that he sees hunting humans as a greater challenge than any other animal he has hunted before and that he does so for his pleasure. Another quote from the story is at the end of the story when Rainsford has defeated Zaroff and is preparing to leave the island.

First Zaroff is a very rich individual, i know he is talented because on ( pg.221) Rainsford was describing how big and nice zaroff house was “It was a huge, beam-ceilinged bedroom with a canopied bed enough for six men that Rainsford followed the silent giant.” Another way Zaroff is very rich because he also has his own island where he hunts more than just animals.

but it is General Zaroff that surpasses him. The part of the story when Rainsford asks if Ivan is Russian.... The reader now knows General Zaroff is not a mere hunter but he is out to

General Zaroff is an amazing hunter, “[has] hunted every kind of game in every land” (). Since he has hunted every animal and was smarter than every animal, there was nothing left for him to hunt. General Zaroff had been hunting since he was a child, and he thought all animals were too easy, except one. “‘It must have courage, cunning, and, above all, it must be able to reason’” (). By this, he means humans.
