As a student do you ever feel stressed or overwhelmed by the amount of homework or studying you have to do? This is why I believe that schools should provide an in-school study hall. With this, students will be able to work on their work and study in a good environment. Providing a study hall has numerous advantages; the most evident one being that the students will be able to get their work done in a good environment with help all around from teachers, and it eliminates the excuses of kids not being able to get their work in on time. With a study hall for everyone students can get work done before they have practice and before they even get home, and they can practice time management with how they spend their time when they get home. Student’s grades will improve and the students will have a better understanding of the tasks.
Permitting a study hall will also allow students to practice time management. With the time to get work done at school, there is more time after school for sports, activities, and more importantly; sleep! Open periods and open lunches are something almost every underclassmen looks forward to, as only juniors and seniors can benefit from these privileges. This is how T.F. Riggs High School has worked for many years. Open lunch means that students have the ability to leave during their lunch period; an open period means students do not have a class during a certain period and have the option to leave the school during that period. Students can lose their open privileges if they have failing grades at midterm or at the end of the quarter. Underclassmen should have the option to have opens as long as they can keep their grades up.
If the school day gets any longer and we get out of school at a later time, our athletes will be practicing at a later time, and will not have time to get their homework done before needing to go to bed to get a decent amount of sleep. If there is a way to have later start times in schools but still have the time to have outside activities it would make everyone
So, they can improve the odds of adolescents getting sufficient sleep so they can thrive both physically and academically. I agree with this source, starting schools later could enhance student’s school performance academically and athletically. Starting school too early are preventing many teenagers from getting the sleep they need to start off their day. I aim to using this this source to support my claim as to why students need more sleep and how it would affect them throughout the school day. This will benefit my essay by forward explaining why school should start later in the morning and why doing this will be better for the students’
It may also lead to less accomplished and more “free time” for students. Study halls are non-essential to Students in high school. It is time consuming and is an excuse
Study Hall, not a highway were studying is taking place. Adding study hall as an elective at Von would bring more benefits to both students and teachers than loss because there’s a likelihood that grades will go up along with standardized test scores. In the same way, the class is versatile, so students have the option on what they want to do. Not only that, but it creates a safety net for students to complete work. Overall, the advantages of implanting a study hall outweigh the disadvantages of it.
These things will improve one’s health. In addition to improving one’s health, it is also better for one’s concentration. The average student needs about ten hours of sleep; however, most students, especially teens, only get around seven hours of sleep. If school started later students would be able to sleep in and therefore get more sleep which would increase their concentration in class.
There are 24 hours in a day, 8 of those hours belong to school. From the moment when a student wakes up, they begin to prepare for school then go to school, most schools start around 8:00-9:00 am, so most students get up 1-2 hours earlier to get ready. Students need at least 8-9 hours of sleep to be able to function. With students having after school activities that take up around 2 hours, students are exhausted and when they get home all the want to do is relax, but some of them have responsibilities that they have to do, which gives them less time to relax from a long day of school. On top of having homework students end up staying up late getting all their work done, which cause them to be less focus the next day not allowing the

There are public schools all over the world and those in public schools are not getting the proper education that they need. It seems public schools only provide the public with the bare minimum. This bare minimum can become very discouraging to parents, students and the entire public community in which the school is. Most Supreme Court rulings agree that school districts across the nation, and across the world, really only need to provide the bare minimum legally. This present an issue, if the professionals are only supposed to give the bare minimum then they themselves will be given the bare minimum.
One reason why School should not be all year around. School should not be all year around because kids need a break . The electric bill will increase a lot more over the summer. It would be way more kids absent then there is in a normal school year a lot of schools already have a big problem with attends. Everyone goes to school, everyone has homework. Homework has been a topic of interest for a very long time. Many students think that homework is not beneficial. However, without homework people wouldn’t remember what they learned in class. Homework gives kids the chance to prove what they have learned.
After a eight hour long day of working at school, all of the kids get released to go back to their houses. What most kids do is they get home and they relax and do other activities that they want to do. But later that day most people have extensive amounts of homework that they have to do. On Wednesdays kids may have religion and other things like sports to do and when people have a lot of homework like Brayden and Prescott have to deal with homework from Religion and School it can be stressful.
The benefit and purpose of school is to gain new knowledge and socialize with other people. The importance of school is taken to consideration as it helps you to meet the grades that you need to go further in life, and the skills/knowledge that can be accomplished and improved. School opens up a lot of opportunities for young people because it is the one place where they go to get new life skills and experience. School is somewhere where young people are able to practice their techniques/learning and form social bonds with other students. School is not just for learning but also for young people to help from in a way that they can also build their social skills and attributes when interacting with other students.
According to John Bishop, “School and homework show students the important life lessons, such as how to read and communicate with others, that they will use as an adult.” Students can learn how important planning, staying organized and taking action is just from doing homework. Homework gives the students an opportunity to learn how to work independently. Although I understand that assigning homework is not beneficial at times, I still believe that assigning homework can teach students many skills and even help teachers. Assigning homework to students is constructive, therefore teachers should assign homework because it allows students to gain responsibility, time-management, perseverance, self-esteem, homework also gives students a chance to review the class material, and it also helps teachers determine how well the lessons and materials are being understood by their students.
