Problem: A big problem that I have with my communication skills is misunderstanding certain conversations or text messages. For example, when my boyfriend and I are talking, I tend to talk much more than he does, which in return gives me mix signals and I think something is wrong. This happens with my family too, we will be having a conversation and I might say something really long and then they reply with “okay” or “yeah”. I then over analyze the situation and all together misunderstand what is being said to me.

Human Resource Management Student: Vera Lopez LP1.1: Strategic Plan Paper Human Resource Management strategy must match the organizations goals. Human Resource Management is operated as a company within itself in which policies and activities are established and measured within the mission and strategic objectives of the organization. The scope is to assist with all activities related to staffing and maintaining an effective workforce (Bernardin, & Russell, 2013). One critical area involving Human Resource is organizational design that is critical for an organizations overall strategic plan. Organizational design is defined as “the arrangement of work tasks based on the interaction of people, technology, and the tasks to be performed in the context of the mission, goals, objectives, and strategic plan of the organization” (Bernardin & Russell, 2013, p.11).

Tanner Corporation, cites a survey claiming only 30 percent of employees understand what their company’s business strategy is” (Schamotta). Considering this, the company’s managers will be responsible for communicating the overall strategy of the company to any new employees that are hired. Managers will also be expected to know when to use which form of communication, as choosing the right form of communication can make a large difference in ensuring a message is both understood and acted upon. The communication channels the company should focus on are: telephone; written communications: letters and emails; one-on-one verbal discussions; and meetings: face to face, teleconference, and video. The telephone is an essential tool to businesses, especially in an increasingly globalized world (Schamotta).
