Food of the Gods, Starship Troopers, and A Legend of the Future all share common characteristics where the audience can attempt to redefine science fiction. In relation with the three books, there is a strive of perfection affected by human emotions, an idea of dissociation, and a relationship between technology and humankind. To begin with, Food of the Gods is able to express the idea of perfection through boomfood. This later turned into a tragedy as other species became exposed and tiny people became threatened by Giants. Tiny humans saw the giants as experiments; a threat to their existence. In Starship Troopers, Robert A. Heinlein shows military strategy at its peak as well as having one of the most efficient militaries. With the rule of a person must earn their citizenship (voting) being in place, a student had stated “It's a reward. Something the federation gives you for federal service”. It shows the relationship of the military and government known as formalized military junia. With this in mind, most people in the book join the military with the mentality of what's best for their country “...he places the welfare of the group ahead of personal advantage.” Even though they have the perfect military strategy and put the group ahead of themselves, Johnny was always a deep thinker even when emotions couldn't get in the way of work. Just like the military strategy, in A Legend of the Future shares the same idea of the group above themselves. Since the beginning, once astronauts turned 16 they are gathered and trained together for life to have the same frame of mind, “ its member agree on all the fundamentals and disagree on everything else.” Due to this, they restrain their feelings and emotions especially when encountered in dangerous situation where they are

The praises that you receive shouldn’t be based on the mere fact that you join but maybe for those who actually wants to serve and protect. In contrast, he says “Make that choice without looking back to see the cheering faces of those who tell you your duty is to do what they are not doing for purposes you may not know nor share” (Gillman 680). None the less, the author let the reader know that these young men and women risk their own lives for purposes which may not be of any value to themselves or the country. As a result, those purposes doesn’t deserve the praises that are
Many young people see it right to sacrifice their time and possibly their life to the armed forces to keep peace within the United States and help to end other world conflicts. Even though the sacrifices may be relatively small, relationships require a degree of sacrifice for success. Lastly, those who are less fortunate might have to make sacrifices to keep out of debt and eliminate some expenses. A sacrifice someone makes can touch the lives of one or tens of thousands and is important to the way of human
The first reason military service should not be required is if an individual is not self motivated to join the military their actions and attitude will be negative. For example, any command, made to an individual that is not willing to be there on their own, will not successfully be followed. The individual receiving the command will fight back. Considering only a few people in each unit might feel this way some may refute and claim that this is not a big problem, but in the military you have to work as a unit. It only takes one person not following commands to mess up the general flow of

The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane pops into mine. Novelist Harold Frederic claimed, “impels the feeling that the actual truth about a battle has never been guessed before” (Weatherford, 116).
