South Seattle College (SSC) offers a tremendous number of activities and volunteer opportunities for students who would like to become more involved with the community. As a student who has decided to major in art, I strive for all of the experience and learning opportunities related to that. At SSC we have created the Art Gallery where students and faculty are able to present their art during arranged shows and open hours throughout the day. As a member I would help with setup before shows, along with leading discussion with audiences presenting students work. It is an honor to not only have the chance to view others art and help engage the community with these events, but I am also pleased to say that last spring quarter one of my digital art pieces were chosen to be presented as well. Having my art viewed by others in the art gallery was very exciting, and I will continue use my art as a way to communicate to my community. …show more content…
During my orientation when I first became a running start student at SSC was when I had first heard about this program along with joining it. The AANAPISI center supports all students success but has a strong focus on students of Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage. Being apart of this program, each and everyone of us strives to help others in any way that we can whether it is academically, or to enlighten others of the asian american, native american, and pacific islander culture. The goal that the AANAPISI program has to guarantee students success makes me proud to be apart of, but as a student who is half Caucasian and half Filipino, I am also able to personally connect to this program as well. I am constantly surrounded by my Filipino culture that I was once out of reach for me, while giving me that sense of
Here we will find art pieces containing images that we have been experiencing throughout our three-day

If I could make a Ithaca College honors seminar I would have us examine what the use of silence can do with in art. We would examine this using multiple platforms including theatre, music, movies, as well as some literature and writings about the effect of silence. I would give the class the whole material and allow them to come to their own opinion on what exactly these pauses do. For each exposure to the material I would require the members of the class to do their own short individual reflect before coming in, to allow people to already have at least a bit of their own form opinion. This class would be mainly rooted in class discuss, I would help by providing questions or clips to help spark the conversation but I would hope it would be environment where people wanted to share their opinions and discuss with their classmates with help from me, the professor.
I find visiting art galleries tremendously uplifting. My most recent experience left me with a spirit of enthusiasm and overwhelming love for humanity that I found difficult to explain to my peers who wouldn 't be caught dead visiting an art gallery. One has to ask oneself how you know that you 've discovered something that distinguishes
I am currently organizing and teaching free weekend workshops at The College of Wooster where I share my professional experiences with students such as photographing artwork, alternative photographic and printmaking processes, and how to create and maintain an online artistic presence through website construction and social media. I also have gained valuable experience as the curator of the student art gallery and supervising the installment of the senior thesis exhibitions. Furthermore, as a graduate student, I assisted in the maintenance of the print studio, mentored international students in the photography studio, administered the undergraduate print organization, and proposed and managed a communal studio print night where undergraduates could come assist me with printing and vice versa. I am committed to the institutions where I teach and I believe in keeping academic course work relevant to contemporary trends in the arts and listening to peers to create

Sequence: I use Sequence as needed. I struggle with organization and I like to do things on my own time. I’m a procrastinator so if I have a timeframe to get things done, I either get things done late or right on time. I’m able to meet deadlines as needed.
1. Close friends, relatives or colleagues express concerns about drinking habits An external viewpoint can often be far clearer than self-reflection. An alcohol addict will often find excuses for their drinking whereas their loved ones see it clearly. 2.
When I think back and recall a place I am fond of, I immediately think of Agnes Scott College. I have only been there once, but hat one time is why it holds such nostalgia for me. The college itself has no actual significant meaning to me, but the gym there does. In the walls of that gym I literally left blood, sweat and tears. My very small high school volleyball team made it all the way to the GCIC State Playoffs, which was held at that college.
Introduction During this course I’ve learned to make my writing better than it was before. I’ve struggled with my writing since I was very little especially the spelling and grammar parts of it. This course has helped a lot with that, I learned how to use grammar and punctuation better. I liked how you corrected my stuff and I learned to have people double check my work for mistakes so that I can fix them before turning it in or making myself look like a fool.
In English, listening, speaking, writing, and viewing skills are very important to us. In the ENG3U, I improve these skills and it helps me very well. The books I read, the essays I wrote, the questions I did all of this are improve these skills, and I gained from these. How did your reading, writing, and viewing skills help you to improve presentation and oral communication skills? When I stand in front of the blackboard, I always very nervous, I don't know how to speak, these skills are only the weapon I can use, they are the only thing I have in my presentation.
This past summer I was confronted with a new way of thinking about art. Make a monument to anything. Create an image of a memory you have. At Cowhouse Studios, an intensive summer art program, I was asked to respond to prompts like these. This was exactly what I hadn’t wanted.
It has been a long, long time in the making. Almost twenty years in a life full of experiences has shaped me into the man I am today. I am the culmination of those lessons learned, and I am stronger today than I have ever been. But things weren 't always so well.

Perspective is a chosen approach that can be used to study any subject in the field of sociology. These perspectives highlight the diverse methods an individual selects to analyze a theme and how they perceive the society in general. Three sociological perspectives include functionalist, conflict and interactionist perspectives (Thompson, Hickey, & Thompson, 2016, p. 2). Throughout this paper, I examine how we analyze the role of television from the functional, conflict, and interactionist approaches. Functionalist perspective on a macro-sociological level places far more emphasis on “the collective life or communal existence than on the individual” (Thompson, Hickey, & Thompson, 2016).
