Based on an article from Christopher Nelman on Forbes, titled "Solar Power is Booming, But Will Never Replace Coal. Here's Why". The writer states that the solar power is growing enormously, and solar industry earned many solar powers, even many companies broke the production record. Besides that, the solar price is quite the same as the coal price now, for fulfilling the entire USA energy. But the writer thought that it will not make solar power can change coal as the USA primary energy source. His reasons are the solar power production still far from the energy needed in the USA, also, even Obama wanted to eradicate coal production, many investors still invested their money on coal company, and changing the energy source needs more energy. I really agree with with the writer's view about the solar power that never replaces coal. Here are my reasons I agree with the writer's view. …show more content…
According to worldenergy.org (2016). [Comparative Primary Energy Consumption Over the Past 15 Years].World Energy Resources.Retrieved from https://www.worldenergy.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/World-Energy-Resources-Full-report-2016.10.03.pdf. Along with oil, coal is still the biggest energy source in the world now. Some people think that coal will end someday. But, for information, coal production started from around the year 1800, and still, it has not shown any sign that it will be gone someday. So, from coal industry owners, they will not stop the production because it will not be empty, and for many developing countries, they will not stop using coal as their energy because it is the easiest source they can get, at least for now. Therefore, changing to solar energy is impossible, even for 50 years
9). Furthermore, Canada consumed 330 million tonnes of fuel in 2016, with a global energy demand of 2.5% (BP, 2017, p. 9). Subsequently, in 2016, 30% was from oil, 27% from natural gas, 27% from hydroelectric, 7% from nuclear, 6% from coal, and 3% from renewables (BP, 2017, p. 9). However, Alberta does not follow the global trend for energy consumption from similar fuels. To illustrate, in 2016, 44% came from natural gas, 39% from coal, 9% from wind power, 6% from hydroelectric, 3% from biomass fuel, and 1% from oil and diesel (Energy Alberta, 2017).
Since Texas is one of the largest producers of wind and solar power, it should encourage the use of renewable energy. If some Texas coal mines and oil drilling were to swap to wind and solar power the overall renewable energy will increase. For instance, “the increase in wind power and the retirement of almost 6,000 megawatts of coal-fired generating capacity, coal-fired power plants supplied 18 percent of state generation in 2021, down from a 36 percent share in 2011.” (U.S. Energy Information Administration, Page 4).5 Due to coal power becoming an outdated energy source, wind power can make a large contribution to the modern world all while being cheaper
The world is in need of fossil fuels. Without them, we would not have cars, airplanes, and not to mention enough energy. A lot of energy is produced from them. They are a very big support. Unfortunately, they are running out.
In 2017 we’re still destroying the planet by using fossil fuel, creating more carbon dioxide, by burning oil, coal and gas. This causes a huge problem in today's world if we keep using the process of burning fossils as a form of electricity, gas etc.. we will end up destroying the planet we live on. By Rhode Island College creating a 5-10 year plan I believe we can be completely running on energy created by solar panels.
In the past, wind and solar power was just too expensive to create renewable energy compared to the energy created by fracking. Now that solar panels
“A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.” Franklin D. Roosevelt once said these wise words to make awareness about protecting the environment. There are many ways we can help improve the environment, and solar energy is an incredibly useful resource. Today eighty percent of the energy comes from fossil fuels, and about one percent comes from solar panels.
Recent years show that most solar electric energy products have dropped in price and have been useful to many others because of
The report anticipates with switching to other natural resources such as solar power, and their claimed efficiency improvements by the time we reach 2050, we would actually be out ahead of that $44 trillion. The cost of switching could be paid for in fuel savings from now to
Wind energy will help the environment because it doesn’t create any pollution in the air because it’s wind. Wind energy will blow no matter what so they 're just taking advantage of what is already there. The Federal Government should increase the alternative energy because it will help the environment from wind energy, because wind energy doesn’t create any pollution in the air. Plus, the wind from wind energy will always blow so there just taking advantage of what is already there.
In the 1960s, oil overtook coal as the leading source of principal energy, attributed to the large growth and development of the transportation sector. Notwithstanding that fact coal present plays a vital role in the International arena’s energy production. Coal use soared during the Industrial Revolution and its consumption globally never decreased into the present . The era of industrial revolution, spanning from 1800s to 1900s; were beneficial socioeconomically and culturally for the United State of America (US) in North America as the major emitter of carbon dioxide (CO2) and greenhouse gases followed by European allies, such as Germany, France, Italy and United Kingdom and accompanied by India and China following its 1978’ policy reform
Due to these issues, renewable resources should become our primary source of energy. First, there are many issues with the energies sources we use now, but one of the major ones is that nonrenewable resources cannot replenish fast enough to replace what is being consumed. Energies made from fossils are the most common types of nonrenewable resource. Specifically, the three main types of fossil fuels are coal, natural gas, and oil.
Global climate change is a very serious problem that we must pay close attention to. The main reason that causes climate change is that there are too many carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. If the temperature keeps getting higher and higher, there will be many problems that can cause great damage to us and the environment. If we don’t replace fossil fuels with other clean energy, our Co2 level will be as many as the time of the dinosaurs and we don’t know what will our lives be if this really happened. The best way to solve this is by using solar energy.
Although the scientists in the 1900s had warned the world about the shortage, many people still refuse to accept the idea that they will eventually be eventually using solar power as the only option. And each year, the debt from the consumer rate increases for every electricity company. For instance, as
Environment- The replacement of fossil fuels with renewable energy (UCSUSA, 2013) will cause a decrease in CO2 emissions which will decrease pollution. By using renewable energy sources like solar energy, we also reduce our dependence on fossil fuel gas and oil reserves, which are becoming more expensive and difficult to find. It also reduces our dependence on imported fossil fuels, improving our energy security. Economic-
Fossil fuels Fossil fuels are NOT a renewable energy resource it will finish up one day As once we 've burned them all, there isn 't any more, and our consumption of fossil fuels has nearly doubled every 20 years since 1900. This is a particular problem for Oil, because we also use it to make plastics and many other products Coal, Oil and Gas are called "fossil fuels" because they have been formed from the fossilized remains of prehistoric plants and animals.
