This theme is evident as villains and figures of evil are often associated with darkness, the protagonists always beat the antagonists, and heroes need to cooperate. Villains and figures of evil are often associated with darkness, many times throughout the course of the book, Kingdom Keepers: Disney After Dark. Humans have the ability to be evil inside them ever since birth; and British Literature is a good analysis on how evil is presented in people’s lives and how people ‘become’ evil, such as how Grendel and Macbeth become evil in their respective stories. There are many theories on why people act evil, including theories from, Hannah Arendt, Elaine Pagal, and Thomas Hobbs. Most of the theories say generally the same thing. Evil is essentially a part of a human’s character and nature, and the evil inside of one can be triggered by a number of things, such as self interest and being influenced to do evil. All the British Literature that was read in this course has contained evil, as evil is an essential part to make a story.
In every Disney movie the villain is generally portrayed as evil or crazy, and it is taken as a personality type, but Disney movies also tend to sneak in a backstory for the villain geared towards explaining how they had come to be evil. And in the end, the villain is usually convinced that they should be “good” (again). So from this perspective, it may appear more so that the villain is not a personality type but a product of the situations they were in each moment that lead to he or she becoming the villain. Malcolm Gladwell is an award winning author who constructed a theory labeled The Power of Context, a chapter in his book The Tipping Point, to prove that people, such as villains in Disney movies, are products of their situations. In essence, to be a product of situations is to be a product of context.
An example of this is when Macbeth becomes king but cannot trust his own friends and allies. Instead he kills them and their families. Evil is shown in Macbeth by taking over someone mentally causing a change in them while in Beowulf there is already a villain from the start of the
The Villain is the main force opposing the Hero. They are cunning and determined, going to great extents to achieve their wish. Mordred, King Arthur’s son, is the classic Villain. The illegitimate son of King Arthur born out of wedlock with his half-sister Queen Margawse of Orkney, Mordred’s existence was not known by King Arthur. Merlin prophesied that King Arthur’s kingdom would be razed to the ground by Mordred and that Mordred did after he became a Knight of the Round Table.
One simple event or one antagonist can push a good character over the edge into villainy. In Shakespeare’s works, one can argue that everyone has villainy in them; it just takes the right person or event to bring it out of them, even though the evil they spread doesn’t do much to help them in the long run. Shakespeare also looks at how these acts are used to make the enactor happy, but in turn results in nothing but a fleeting happiness. In Shakespeare’s play, Much Ado About Nothing, Don John is drawn to villainy due to his bastard status, whereas Claudio is drawn to villainy due to his fiancé’s perceived loss of innocence. Don John, the bastard brother of Don Pedro, is mad at the world because of the situation his father put him in growing

Similarly, as a hero has a quest, they more than often have someone to face. In a romance, this brings the topic good versus evil into play. In the film, our hero King Arthur faces several evil people. The first being Germanus. Germanus promised Arthur and his knights freedom and then sent them on another mission while holding their freedom papers hostage.
She wanted the title of being queen and King Duncan was in her way of that, so she got into Macbeth’s head. Macbeth was reluctant at first, which also shows that he is not wholly evil. A true wholly evil person wouldn’t be reluctant about killing someone. Throughout the play, it is evidence that Macbeth is not wholly
When we think about the villains Disney cinema produces, the first image that comes to mind is the powerful women who use their magic to cast spells, summon forces greater than life, and enhance their agency. When examining the villain, one of the characteristics that stand out, is the villains’ dehumanization and non-heteronormativity. As a result, the villains’ stories may not adhere to idealistic social norms, but it’s their own just the same.
What is it to be good or evil? Truthful versus deceitful? In Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, Macbeth is given a prophecy by three witches that he shall be King and Banquo, his noble friend, shall be the father of kings.
