Decisions you make can put you in situations you have never previously imagined, you may be faced with circumstances you would have never chosen to be in. In the story of Pryamus and Thisbe, along with the Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, young couples die horrible deaths after indulging in a forbidden love. Both relationships result in tragedy due to the selfish decisions of each person involved.
The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet takes place in the span of just a few days. I am sure you have heard of what is referred to as “love at first sight” that is exactly what happened in this instance. They were not thinking completely clearly due to the fact of how consumed they were with each other. If Romeo and Juliet had chosen to slow down, and take some

It leads to dishonesty, and all sorts of confusion due to a lack of communication. Secrets hurt people, not only those who they are being kept from, but also those who keep them. Romeo and Juliet’s relationship was completely unbeknownst to anyone except for Nurse, and Friar Lawrence. Both Capulet and Montegue were aware that no more blood was to be shed on the behalf of their feud. For this reason, it is possible that a marriage between Romeo and Juliet may not have been as opposed as we are led to think. That option was never explored due to the secrecy of the relationship. Each of them were convinced they already knew the answer so they did not even bother to try having a civil conversation regarding the matter. Friar Lawrence helped to keep the information private which left him completely devastated after the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. He was the only person still living that knew the entire story of what had gone on over the days prior. Friar Lawrence said this after realizing what keeping this secret had caused, “Miscarried by my fault, let my old life be sacrificed some hour before his time unto the rigor of severest law.”(Shakespeare, 846) Friar realized that he had played a role in the deaths of the young couple. He helped to keep the secret, which he was asked to do by Romeo, another personal decision that led to the downfall of Romeo and …show more content…

Juliet is saying that there is no life for them if that life should not be with one another, meaning it is their destiny to be together. It is assumed that they committed suicide because they felt that they had no life left to live once they learned of the other’s death. In actuality, they only felt this way because of the decisions they made. They had much to live for, but their previous decisions made it difficult for them to see any other way out of the situation. The love they had was rushed and few good decisions come when you are not thinking clearly. The outcome of each story is deeply saddening. It is incredibly painful to think about what had to have happened to put the idea that suicide would be better than their realities into the minds of these youth. The particular reason for this circumstance all comes down to this simple idea: your decisions can take you farther than you ever wanted to go, faster than you ever wanted to get there. A tragic death was not the destiny of Romeo or Juliet. A tragic death is what they suffered, due to their own impulsive and selfish decision to risk everyone and everything they had in the hopes of gaining something even better,
Friar Lawrence, through his subversive acts, is to blame for the deaths. The Friar is presented as a wise man whom Romeo and Juliet trust and rely on for help through conflict. In Shakespeares’ play, Romeo asks Friar to marry him and Juliet. Friar, anxious to help, agrees to marry them. “In one respect I’ll thy assistant be, / For this alliance may so happy prove, / To turn your households rancor to pure love.”
The Deaths of Romeo and Juliet We often make impulsive decisions in the heat of the moment this is no different for the suicides of Romeo and Juliet in Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet. In the play, Romeo is in love with a girl named Rosaline, but she wanted to be a nun and had no interest in him. He kept trying and trying to please her, but one night Mercuitio and Benvoilio make him go to a party, where to his surprise, he found a new girl named Juliet. Their families were both enemies and they knew it, yet they both fell in love and eventually died because of eachother. The deaths of Romeo and Juliet were ultimately caused by Romeo and Juliet themselves.
In William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence is to blame for the death of Romeo Montague. Friar shows a lack of wisdom when it comes to giving advice to Romeo on his wish to marry Juliet. He knows that Romeo was previously in love with Rosaline and, within one day, he has fallen in love with another girl. Instead of telling Romeo he needs to take time to get to know Juliet, Friar agrees to marry them that day.
Romeo and Juliet's marriage was kept a secret from their families, which is what led to misunderstandings and eventually their deaths. In Act 2, Scene 6, Friar Laurence says to Romeo, “Come, Come with me, and we will make short work. For, by our leaves, you shall not stay alone till holy church incorporate two in one.” Friar Laurence also tells Romeo, “These violent delights have violent ends and in their triumph die, like fire and power, which, as they kiss, consume.” This proves Friar Laurence is at fault because he married them knowing the Montagues and Capulets had a rivalry that would cause a problem in their marriage.
But at the end of the book when six people died, including Romeo and Juliet, the friar admitted that he married the two knowing they were enemies and told all the secrets that were kept. But he told about the secrets and marriage way too late because if he would have told someone like their parents, then he could have prevented their deaths. There were also multiple secrets, including the fake death of Juliet, which never got told to Romeo because the message was never sent, the sleeping potion that made Juliet look like she was dead, and the marriage that could have been told and changed the ending or have saved the lives that were lost. The priest admitted to his actions at the end of the book because he was frightened that he might have been blamed and punished for the deaths that
The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet encompasses Romeo and Juliet making ill informed decisions. They were in the prime of their life or should have been. Instead of learning from their mistakes and getting advice from their family. They were driven by lust and the need to do the opposite of what their parents advised. Leading them to make decisions that led them to their death.
(5.3.61-62) Juliet refuses the offer and stays with her dead husband Romeo. Further examining the facts that Friar Lawrence felt the need to run away from this situation implies that he felt responsible for what had happened. Romeo looked up to Friar as a mentor and Friar Lawrence fled from Romeos dead body and from guilt. A while later as Friar Lawrence comes back to the scene, he informs everyone of the events that had taken place over the last week. As Friar Lawrence recounts the information, he mentions Juliets nurse “Her nurse is privy”
They both believed that they couldn't be together because they were part of the feuding families, but they never tried to actually talk to their parents. Also, they both decided to end their lives. No one forced them to do it, but because of their irrational reasoning, they died. Friar Lawrence and the nurse are also at fault for the death of Romeo and Juliet. The nurse was like a mother to Juliet, she could’ve guided Juliet in the right direction, but instead, she encouraged and allowed Juliet to see Romeo and never told the parents about the marriage or the first time they met.
There was a person that let them get to that point. The person who let them get there was the Friar. Friar Lawrence is guilty for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because he is the one who marries them. The Friar said to Romeo, “In one respect I’ll thy assistant be; For this alliance may so happy prove To turn your households rancor to pure love” (2.3.90-93).
As a clergyman who is aware of the ongoing feud between the Capulet and Montague families, he should have considered the longstanding conflict and the volatile nature of their relationship that has resulted in much bloodshed in the past. By marrying them without the knowledge of Juliet's parents, he puts them in a dangerous situation. This secret marriage becomes the foundation for further deceit in the
When Romeo was visiting Juliet at her balcony, they agree to marry as soon as they can (Shakespeare; II.ii.143-144). The watcher can take note that this decision had just been made on the same day that they first met each other. The marriage was then performed the next day by the friar. As soon as this event happens, Romeo and Juliet spend the night together in Juliet’s room (Shakespeare; III.v). The audience could interpret the scene as the young adults desperate to be with each other, perhaps that being together would supply their need of lust.
Friar Lawrence knew about their family's violent feud. He knew there was no way their parents would ever consent to Romeo and Juliet’s marriage, and yet he went through with it. He hoped that the wedding would produce peace, and he must have known that it wouldn’t when he chose to marry them in secret. On page 411, the Friar and Romeo argue back and forth about whether or not he should marry them. The Friar finally gave in, stating, “Thy Love did read by rote, that could not spell.
When the problem began and just continued to persist, Friar Lawrence had said, “In one respect I’ll thy assistant be, / For this alliance may so happy prove / To turn your households' rancor to pure love”(II. Iii. 90-92), before he agreed to secretly marry Romeo and Juliet. He only did this because he wanted to be the one to resolve the feud between the two families whether anyone else knew what had done it or not. Later on when he stated, “Hold, daughter. I do spy a kind of hope, / Which craves as desperate an execution /
Romeo and juliet do not have fully developed brains. They are still teenagers, They don't have a full understanding of what love is and how it works. Romeo and juliet were under the stress of their family's. Romeo wanted to get married as soon as possible thinking that their families vendettas would end, juliet agreed and they decided to get married, As with most suicides, there is more to the story than just the ending. It’s never just that they wanted to end their life.
William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is a perfect example of how poor choices don’t only affect one’s own futures but also those of their communities. Romeo and Juliet fall in love despite their families, the Montagues and the Capulets, being enemies. The two marry in secret and plan to live a happy life together before a deadly fight breaks out between the Montagues and the Capulets and the lovers are separated. The heartbreaking story consists of risky decisions and bad timing. Romeo’s own impulsive nature, demonstrated when he kills Juliet’s kinsman, breaks Verona’s law of banishment, and suicidal act, all contribute to the tragic end of Romeo and Juliet.
