For example, the main contributor of bullying is cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is when someone one uses the Internet to bully a person, which usually occurs through sending messages of threats to others. “ Over twenty-five percent of adolescents and teens have been bullied repeatedly through their cell phones or the Internet” ().
Imagine an unpopular student, getting bullied and picked on at school. Going home after a long day feels like a blessing for that child. However, upon turning on their phone, they realize it has been bombarded with cruel messages and images. The constant messages are having a harmful effect on the student’s well-being, and they are trapped in a never-ending loop of bullying. Some argue cyberbullying is not a ‘real’ problem, however, cyberbullying is a significant issue that needs to be prevented because it commonly affects youth, it leads to physical injuries, and it causes psychological harm.
A summary of what Self-esteem is would be as follows: how someone feels about themselves, how much they think their life is worth, how much respect someone has for themselves. There are many influences that determine our self-esteem level. Society, drug or alcohol influence, and relationships are three factors that often have an input on how we view ourselves as all three factors are constantly giving input on what we should and shouldn’t do and how we should conduct our lives. Society and the people around us have a big influence on how we feel about ourselves, or our self-esteem. Society often defines who we are as people and how we should act.

Teenagers feel forced to protect themselves by carrying weapons for protection or seek revenge.
