Scoring in sports Whenever you attend any kind of sporting event, it always helps to know as much about that sport as possible. One thing that everyone should know about a sport, are the points that are associated with the sport. For example, baskets are the points in basketball, and touchdowns are the points for American football. However, just knowing the points of games are not enough. Some points in games are far larger than others. Not in their actual in game value, but within their significance and timing. I feel that an original definition of scoring would be that it is a way of gratifying the player who has taken the extra mile of perfecting the art of scoring, by rewarding them with those special moments where they will be immortalized forever in the hearts of their loyal fans. …show more content…

These athletes get a lot of publicity and fame for perfecting the art of scoring. An example of players like this would be Stephen Curry, James Harden and Kevin Durant from the NBA. Also scorers from the NFL would include Adrian Peterson, and DeAngelo Williams just to name a few. In this current season of the NBA, Stephen Curry leads the charge with an average of 29.8 points per game. Following close behind is James Harden with an average of 27.7 points per game and in third is Kevin Durant with 27.4 points per game (“ESPN.com”). On the flip side of things, the NFL has Adrian Peterson and DeAngelo Williams dominating the gridiron with powerful rushes. In this current season, they already possess 11 touchdowns apiece (24-7 Baseball). All of these players are masters of their own craft and are some of the best athletes to play their respective games.
