Samuel Morse was a very gifted man. He enrolled at Yale College and grew to love the lectures that Benjamin Silliman gave on electricity. He graduated with honors in 1810. Although Samuel liked to paint, he was discouraged from doing so by his father. Samuel Morse was a very influential man. The way he got involved in inventing the telegraph is both interesting and very sad. The invention of the telegraph was a long and strenuous process, he encountered many challenges throughout his journey with the telegraph, and lastly, Samuel’s invention of the telegraph made a huge impact on the United States and the world. Regardless of all, he had been taught at Yale, he felt that he didn’t have enough knowledge of the qualities of electricity. After his encounter with Jackson, Morse turned to a fellow colleague by the name of Leonard Gale for help. Gale was a professor who was well versed in electrical work. Gale’s familiarity and knowledge were critical to Morse’s telegraph, not only would Gale point out problems in the telegraph system, he would also show Morse how he could boost the signal. Around December of 1837, Morse had enough self-confidence in his telegraph system and he tried to apply for Federal Government funding. Morse started presentations of his new system in New York and Washington DC. Sadly, when the financial catastrophe called the panic of 1837 shook the nation, Morse was required to patiently wait it out until better times. Without funding, Morse wasn’t able to experiment with the telegraph very often. By the time of 1843, the United States began to financially gain traction and he could finally ask Congress for 30,000 dollars which would permit the construction of a telegraph line spanning from Washington to Baltimore. Eli Whitney was an inventor and studied law. His inventions worked out better than his “lawyering”. Eli Whitney liked mechanical work but he also knew it was important to go to school. Eli Whitney was born in Westboro, Massachusetts on December 8, 1765 and he passed away on January 8, 1825 from prostate cancer. Growing up on the farm with his two brothers and one sister, Eli also enjoyed working in his father's workshop( Birking 1) .

Alexander Hamilton was confronted by a financial crisis in 1792, the price of securities began to go up and eventually crashed in March. Investors started to withdraw their money from their banks and Alexander Hamilton helped to solve the crisis. It was hard for Hamilton, but he kept persisting on doing it again and again even if they said to stop trying. Also Alexander Hamilton along with James Madison and John Jay wrote 85 essays to persuade the delegates from New York State to ratify the newly written U. S. Constitution or warning of the dangerous powers given to the proposed national government. At a young age, Franklin was a determined. He would become his brother’s apprentice in his printing press company. This would inspire him to establish his own printing press which would be well known throughout all the colonies. He was then given the rank of postmaster, which made him the head of all the post offices in the colonies. He was very interested in pursuing science and enjoyed inventing; this curiosity of science would lead him to be the first to discover electricity.
Andrew Carnegie was born in the United Kingdom and moved into America for work when he was young. His family struggled with work. He worked while he was young and was a good worker. He worked for a telegraph company and learned a valuable skill. It was morse code.

John Muir founded many national parks and environmental foundations. Muir is well known for being the co-founder of the Sierra Club. The Sierra Club was created to make sure people had clean drinking water, clean air, and to protect the environment from threats such as deforestation.
Few years later, Robert Fulton, stayed in PA, as a painter. At the age of twenty-three, he met Benjamin Franklin and got interested in engineering. Fulton wants someone to sponsor him to go to England. However, he wasn’t sponsor, so Robert decided to go to France to seek finical and constructional support.
Hamilton had a very rough youth because he suffered many losses as a young person but no matter what he went through, he rose above it all. A successful merchant took him in and eventually Hamilton became a clerk for a New York mercantile firm. Chernow does a very good job of bringing the story of Alexander Hamilton to life. It is not difficult to picture American times during the American Revolution. Chernow makes it seem as if it was not for the accomplishments of Hamilton, America might not have been half the country it is today.
Samuel F.B Morse is an American painter and inventor. He was born on April 27, 1791 by Elizabeth Ann Finley Breese and Jedidiah Morse in (Charlestown) Boston, Massachusetts. His parents called him “Finley”. He was from the United States; he had two wives Elizabeth Griswold and Lucretia Walker. He also had seven children, Susan, Samuel, Charles, Cornelia, William, Edward, and James Morse.
Finally, Morse got his parents permission to pursue a career as a painter, and he left for London in 1811 to study as an art major. While in London, Morse attended the Royal Academy, where many other respected artists studied; one of the artists who attended was Benjamin West (Silverman 42). Benjamin Franklin was a scientist, politician, and he invents a bunch of cool things. Benjamin Franklin did not attend school until the age of ten. It took his father two years to pay for his son’s education. Franklin’s family household was large and he is the youngest out of his seventeen siblings. Benjamin Franklin grew up with an unfortunate lifestyle; in the fall of 1723, he went travelled to Philadelphia the city of Pennsylvania with a lack of budget and without support from anyone not even his close family.

Edison was very gifted and invented over a thousand innovations. His dedications to his work shows that he is a strong man; even if it takes several tries for an invention to be a success. He is willing to endure that failure. Edison spent many hours working to benefit the life’s of others. Edison was very passionate about his work otherwise he wouldn’t be very successful.
The telegraph operator wanted to reward Thomas Edison for saving his son. Edison asked the telegraph operator to teach him how to be a telegraph operator. Soon as Edison learned on how to be a telegraph operator he made it a useful skill. Edison got a job in Michigan. Then he traveled to New York and to Boston.
