SIP Evaluation The Student Inquiry Project was much different to other assignments that have been done in the past. There were source analysis’ done in order to find accurate information and to know if the work was worth using. There were many sections of the assignment so there were many deadlines, so managing time well was important. There were many capabilities developed over the course of the student inquiry project, which helps with developing as a learner. Sources: • Hydro.com – How aluminium is made This source was useful as it explains the process of how aluminium is made and what materials are used to make it. It focus’s on each part of the process explaining what material is used and how that progresses on to create aluminium. There is also an animation on the side of the website visually showing the process and the steps of making aluminium. • Zoltek.com – How is it made? (Carbon fibre) This source was useful as it explains the manufacturing process of carbon fibre. It breaks down the steps of making carbon fibre and the website also has other pages on carbon fibre. • How Stuff Works – What is carbon fibre? The source from ‘How Stuff Works’ for carbon fibre was a good source for information as it was reliable and credible. There was lots of information on the material looked …show more content…
Working on the assignment helped with developing as a learner and help better understand the capabilities. The numeracy capability was developed as there were lots of numbers involved with the assignment, there were times when materials were compared so calculations were used. Literacy was also developed, as everything done had to be written down, there were also many sections of the assignment so there were may different parts written up like the outcome, which was written differently to parts of the
This allows students to build more skills and identify faults so that they can improve for future annotations.

It asks what skills that students use outside of school might help build a foundation for completing reading and writing assignments in school. I think that this can be associated with focusing on autonomous learning using choices made by the students. (McCombs) If students can feel they are responsible for their learning they are much more likely to complete requested work. When researched it was discovered that three main points come into
The results of the second survey showed an improvement in their understanding and knowledge which influenced positively on their AVB. The video outlining how dangerous speeding is, was displayed in a PC class. After this video was shown the second survey was conducted by a few classes to represent the year 12 students’ AVB towards speeding. A number of key questions were similar to those on the first survey was to identify any improvement in knowledge and understanding, and if personal skills where developed through the use of the video displayed. The questions were also created to enable a direct comparison between the shift in AVB.
Once chapters were written, feedback from the critical colleague and Dr. Wilcox helped evaluate errors in logic as well as grammar and mechanical issues that would raise questions to the competency and credibility of the researcher. Having a professional, quality action research project will facilitate the collecting of data from the stakeholders and will give confidence for sharing the results and conclusions. The objectives of the 692 Research Methods and Design Course were met successfully in that they were completely embedded in the coursework. The effectiveness of the course was demonstrated as it was impossible to discuss the learning provided in the course without direct references to the objectives.

Throughout the night, Mary dreamt of Bill . Her mind raced through memories from the first time their eyes met, how those sweet blue eyes sparkled when he laughed, and how they were in love and drifted apart. She also remembered 4 years ago, when she had seen him while away on business in Orlando, Florida. Imagine this: You and your classmates are asked to lift ‘x’ amount of weight, ‘x’ amount of times, or for ‘x’ period of time. During these lifts, you will be analyzed and assessed based off performance. The assessment will begin during or after instructions are given and will continue throughout the semester. Steady build of progress is expected and select milestones must be obtained in order to perform well in the class. After the instructions are given, you and your classmates are to begin performing the required criteria.
The knowledge I gleaned from this activity resulted in a more tailored and focused learning experience for my students which met them where they were instead of assuming what they did or didn’t know. My lessons were more appropriate for the learning environment as a result of giving a pre-test and at the end of the unit both the students and I will be able to have tangible proof that our time was not wasted. Learning occurred and this pre-assessment allows us to prove
). By showing them passion and being enthusiastic I would motivate them to achieve their targets. Wallace (2006), states that if outcomes are not achieved by students the lesson is not achieving the primary purpose. This is why assessing plays a significant role in the learning process. Formative assessment gives feedback about the learners’ progress through the course and a summative assessment is carried out at the end of the course and this is a formal way to check if the learner has met the outcomes of the course (Gravells 2014).
Additionally, the tasks need to be constructive and interlinked and provide a challenge to the students while also acting as a motivation factor. The adopting of effective teaching to match the personal strengths of the students ensures that a student’s learning outcome is achieved Holistic assessment should be encouraged to understand what the learner has captured on a learning
Students will be enriched when assessing the information attained from these
