Describing blame, as an adjective or a verb, is something to think about because we use blame in our everyday life as humans since it is in our nature to put blame on others. It is common nature to us because we need to feel, as humans, better than those around us and not responsible for something in case it goes bad. Likewise in the play, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, blame could be shared throughout the whole town of Verona because everyone has caused blame. Therefore when the couple commits suicide, it is mainly the family’s fault that Romeo and Juliet thought they had to do that to be happy together in death and not in life. Such as when in the play, Capulet is verbally and physically abusing his daughter to marry a man in order to gain a higher status in court. In the scene, when Juliet protests on the matter of marrying Paris her father just tears into her like she is just the scum of the world. We can see that Juliet is being abused by her own father and does not have anywhere else to go other than to whom she loves, Romeo, in order to feel safe. Even though Romeo is not the best option for her, she does this anyway on the amends of rebelling against her father. And this is significant to the story to show how Juliet is “weak” and needs to be taken away from the horrible situations that her family is putting her into. The quote attributes to this point because Capulet has done these horrible things to his daughter and never does anything to stop himself from harming her because he sees as though he is doing nothing wrong.
