Disability is an impairment that corresponds to a person’s development, intellectual, mental, physical, sensory, and/or a combination of these. Having a disability can really affect one’s life activities, whether it occurs since birth or sometime during a person’s life, it’s something that we should not discriminate against because it is something that does not come and go easily. Although this is not a topic that most people cover or talk about, it is very important because it involves the Human Rights. And they should be treated right because we are all human beings. All the media does is imitate or mock people with disabilities but there are some people who actually has the audacity to defend disabilities with the purpose of the Human rights. However, that is only on social media because in reality, the society doesn’t show any attention, unless there is an incident that blows up on the news relating to disabilities. So how is people with disabilities treated in the media and reality? Not long ago, during the Grammys 2016, Stevie Wonder called for disability rights because he himself believes people with disabilities should be treated right around the world. “For many people with disabilities and those who care for them, daily life may not be easy. Disabilities affect the entire family.” (CDC.12). Families who have a member with disabilities can cause the whole family with stress - emotional, financial and even physical problems. So the fact that they are not being treated right creates a bigger harm for these families and caretakers who are trying very hard to help
