One loud shot was fired, leaving everyone with the question of “who fired first,” The Revolutionary War had begun. The American colonist were unquestionably right in waging war and breaking away from Britain. The colonist no longer wanted to be under Britain's strong mercantilist. Conflict had rose between the mother country and the colonist. The American colonist were justified in waging and breaking away from Britain because of taxes, treatment, and mercantilism.

The American Revolution began due to the corruption of the British government. The British had a monarchy in which the ruler’s descendants were given power after the ruler’s death. Thomas Paine explains that the British monarchy is not an effective form of government (Document 5). He states that man started out as all equal and that the present distribution of powers is unnatural. Paine calls hereditary succession an abominable practice.

Prior to the war the English tried to enforce the Navigation acts which was threating the colonial desire for economic growth. It seemed baffling that England should prevent them from being able to take advantage of the resources of the west. The colonist were not going to be forced into obeying the unpopular Parliamentary laws. Americans considered it illegal to tax the colonies. With a series of events the colonies were becoming more resistant in the British trying the exercise direct control over the colonies.

The beginning of war, is the ending of life. The reason that war is death, is that the war of Valley Forge caused many to be deceased, and deceived. I have decided to not re-enlist into the Colonial Army because of sickness (Doc. C+A), Housing (Doc. D+B), and supply shortage (Doc. C+B). These reasons listed are big reasons that caused death, and sadness taking away loved ones and friends. A challenging question to answer as an American Christian is whether the American Revolution was biblical or not. It is clear in the Bible the expectations God put forth as being the roles of both the government and obedient citizens. The big question is if the founding fathers of America were biblically justified by the Declaration of Independence and the American Revolution. There is a difference between being obedient to a government and being in a position where the government expects its people to commit sin.

All people were looking for freedoms, ones not ever having a chance of happening in Great Britain. The colonists had the goals of gaining their rights and freedoms in waging the Revolutionary War they were aiming for a republican political system and leaving behind monarchy systems as they had planned when first coming to the United States. England had called themselves a republic, but the king had so much control it did not fall under the category of a republic. England was a monarchy just as well as France and Spain were and this is exactly what they wanted to avoid in the United States (Document 1).

The Revolutionary War, or American Revolution, started in Lexington and Concord in April 1775. The first shot was fired in the middle of a fight between colonists and British soldiers. The fighting started because one of the colonists threw a snowball at the soldiers. In the chaos of the fight a shot was fired and a colonist was shot and killed. This shot was known as the shot heard around the world.

There were several events that led up to the American Revolution. One of these were the French and Indian War, also called the Seven Years War. After the British won this war, they convinced the Indians to restrict land beyond the Appalachian Mts. in the Proclamation of 1763. After the war though, the British government became much more dependent on the revenues gained by the colonies in order to pay for everything.

In that case, the American Revolution was very revolutionary because there were political, social, and economic changes. Wealthy people lost their money, there was a new government, it made citizens question slavery, and certainly more freedom for the Americans. The American Revolution resulted in the establishment of an independent nation; British colonists became American citizens. That was a vast change in U.S history.

A revolution is a forcible overthrow of a government to acquire a new system. The American Revolution was sparked from a variety of occurrences ranging from speeches to letters to documents, therefore causing the revolution to become the most significant yet. When the Revolutionary War occurred, that was when America started to try and break away from Britain. With that happening, more action started to escalate - war after war along with acts being put into place, such as the Boston Massacre, Shot heard around the world, Stamp Act and Townshend Acts. The American colonists were justified in waging and breaking away from the British because it was war after war that the colonists weren’t recovering from past wars because so many of their soldiers were dying or wounded. For example, after the Boston Massacre the colonists wanted nothing to do with the British.

During the 1700s America and it’s 13 colonies made a bold decision to revolt from Great Britain and become their own independent nation. This started a revolution that would forever change the way Americans would live. The War of Independence or better known as the American Revolution, consisted of the 13 colonies of America trying to gain independence from Great Britain and on July 4th 1776, America finally decided to declare their independence. Many say the revolution paved the way for many other great changes to take place, while others believed not a lot was impacted due to the revolution.
