My favorite period in history is the Renaissance period, a period in time that has never seized to amaze me because of the amazing art, the advancement of technology and the socio-economic status of the individual. From the fourteenth to the seventeenth century, the Renaissance spread through out the European continent. The word Renaissance literally means the "rebirth," and it was definitely the rebirth of Europe. The Renaissance has not only affected the fourteenth to the seventeenth century, but it has continued to affect the world that I now live in today. The famous art work from Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael are still referenced, the system of astrology still utilized. Inventions, such as the printing press was used during this time period to mass produce material, which made information and intelligence increase all around the world, especially Europe where the Renaissance was centered and flourished. During the early sixteenth century, the most well known and most referenced piece of art was painted, the portrait of Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. But before that the Renaissance had began in the wealthy Italy due to the fact that they had the wealth needed to support the artist, who were at that time thought of as craftsmen, architects, and intellectual geniuses. …show more content…
After the previous times, when everything the art, the intelligence and creation seemed to stand still, the Renaissance was the complete polar opposite. Everything around the world seemed to wake up and the minds of the individual forged way into a new period in time. This led to the advancement in science, art, technology, education, economics, and politics. The Renaissance began in Italy in the 1300s, throughout much of Europe during the next three hundred years. The author’s purpose is to inform and entertain the reader about the amazing accomplishments that many people achieved during this period of time. He is not refuting or showing the reader a specific viewpoint, but he produces a straightforward factual explanation about the past.
From 1450 to 1750, global networks began to expand. Though not every part of the world was involved in these expanding global networks, countries like China were. This was the time period of the Ming and the Qing Dynasties. There were changes and continuities with China’s participation in the global networks around this time period. During the time period between 1450 and 1750, China limited outside influence and their participation in the Silk Road Trading remained constant in global network trading, while there were significant changes in China’s participation in global networks such as Chinese converts to the Christian religion and China’s demand for an alternative medium of exchange.
Those who were educated began to question the ways of the church. This was the beginning of something called “The Renaissance” Thing began to change. Without the renaissance people today would not be as highly educated and would be less open-minded. The Renaissance was a period in time where everything started to change after the middle ages. During this historical period humans stared evolving by becoming smarter and inventing useful recourses that have changed the world. The renaissance was a life changing period which brought more joy to the world after conquering the dark ages. Man’s view of the world changed greatly in a blink of an eye during the Renaissance, and for good reasons. The Middle Ages (which stretched from about 500 CE to 1350 CE), were a time of little schools, widespread illiteracy, and the Catholic Church ruling everything in Europe, meaning almost everyone had to look up to them to explain the world. During this time period, many of the population were peasant farmers named serfs under the rule of a lord who they worked for. However, At the backend of this period, the world started to change. Improved farming methods meant serfs depended less on their lords, meaning they could gain freedom and migrate to different towns to do different jobs such as being a banker or merchant.
