My FFA membership has taught me more than I ever thought it would. When I first came back to YPS I was in eighth grade. This meant I was a Greenhand. Although Greenhands are supposed to be Freshmen, they were seventh and eighth graders here. I didn’t know what to expect. My sister, Maddy had been the Sentinel that year. At home, she talked about FFA, what it is, what it does, and how much fun she had. A few months into the next school year, Greenhand Officer elections had been announced. Honestly, I wasn’t interested in running, but I figured it could possibly open doors for me in the future, so why not go ahead and fill out the application and do the interview.
Here is where I really begin to learn. I took a look at the application and thought it looked easy. Then I looked at the last question and on the back of the page and I completely panicked. I didn’t know

Little Shy Issac, now knew what to think about before an interview and could easily do it for next year’s process if I decided to. I’ve attended numerous COLTs (Chapter Officer Leadership Training), a 24 hour FFA officer training that happens three times a year, learning about Time management, new ways to bring members to your chapter, brainstorming ideas, and the list goes on. Additionally, I’ve attended Peoria Mini Leadership camp’s, National FFA Convention, NDLC camp out’s, District CDE competitions, and local chapter officer training with a private session with former state FFA officers, and countless hours during both chapter and officer meetings. During and after each of these, I’ve learned how to enhance my abilities to become a better leader, to get to know my colleagues better and understand how they think, and most importantly, I’ve learned about what type of person I’d like to become and who I am. Not to mention the revamping of my social skills after being in an isolated area for countless months only talking to people I already know and are comfortable

“What leadership qualities should a chapter officer possess and which of those do you have. How will it help make a positive difference in the lives of Long Valley FFA members?” In today 's world the leaders are everything, from the president to the high school ffa officers. It is important to that are leaders have good responsibility and know how to make good choices.
I have worked to expand my leadership skills at the district level in budgeting, leadership, project management and application of Career and Technical Education (CTE) initiatives, aligning frameworks, connecting with Middle School programs, Advisory Committees and Technology Initiatives. I work with Sumner's CTE staff to complete
Any good program needs a strong leadership team, and I have always wanted to be a strong leader because I love helping others be their very best. In our marching band program our section leaders are called FOG (For Others Greatness), they are chosen not only for their musicality but also for their ability to work with and guide others. The section leaders during my freshman year were incredible and I longed to be just like them when I was finally able to apply and audition for the position. I am on the color guard and do not play an instrument during the marching season, therefore my color guard skills would need to be at an elevated level in comparison to those of my peers. As the audition portion of the application came about I worked diligently
This provides information on how the FFA continues to become more known to members and guests. The National FFA Convention was sustained in Missouri for the last time in 1998 (“FFA history”). In 1999, the seventy-second National FFA Convention was held in Kentucky for the first time and also the first national Creed Speaking event was held. Middle school students were approved to get the Discovery FFA degree in 2000 and in 2002 the official dress standard were revised to what they are today (“FFA history”). In 2005, the national FFA foundation broke the mark of ten million dollars of collecting money for FFA programs and services (“FFA history”).
On the off chance that you are anticipating running while still a senior or undergrad you must ensure you are fit for traveling everywhere throughout the states having addresses with different parts of the FFA chapters over the entire state. Among the week of the convention the chose hopefuls must address different individuals attending the event letting them know their arrangements for the association if by chance that they are chosen. Every competitor must sit through every meeting and class to hold information on how they will soon need to run the FFA. Amid the day these individuals must experience a progression of tests turned in on how to be a proper member or officer. One enforced test they must pass is knowing the entire Parliamentary Procedure by heart.
I can contribute my knowledge of social justice and ability to be a community servant to this organization. My long-term life goal is to become a hospital owner in multiple underrepresented areas and foreign countries. Being a community servant, one can build character while helping open doors or provide opportunities for those who are less fortunate. I’ve read the many articles of the large groups of Alpha men graduating from Meharry Medical College, that have had such a huge impact on the surrounding communities by giving a helping hand when needed. It’s the small things that count and makes me eager to join the previous groups of male leaders striving to achieve their goals, which defy all odds against
In the end of my seventh grade year I got recommended by my teachers to be a part of the National Youth Leaders Conference in Washington D.C.. During that conference I learned how to exhibit my gifts and talents and collaborate with other leaders.
Looking back on my four years as an FFA member of the New Lexington FFA Chapter, I can name several skills I’ve learned that I truly believe got me to where I am today. I remember my freshman self. Too nervous and shy to stand up and say the FFA motto in front of my Plant and Animal Science class. Twelve short words to recite for bonus points in class. I knew it, but was just too shy to stand up.
During my high school career I was blessed to find the Future Farmers of America, also known as the FFA,. The FFA is an organization that stands over half a million members strong. The FFA has prepared me for my future significantly more than any other group or organization I have been involved in. The mission of this program is, “FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.” I believe it has done just that for me; this organization has made a profound impact on my life.
I joined the National FFA Organization March of my sophomore year in 2015. I didn't really know what I was getting myself into, just that my teacher needed another participant for the Vet Science CDE. I agreed to come to practice and eventually compete at the state contest. This was the beginning of my FFA career. We won the state contest, and worked through the summer to head to National Convention that fall and finish with a gold-rating.
According to George Washington, “The basis of our political system is the right of the people to make and to alter their constitutions of government.” Replace ‘people’ with ‘students’ and this becomes a powerful declaration about the politics within the organization of the California Future Farmers of America (FFA). As with any political arena the FFA is an organization where power bases and allies are developed; however, it is the students who define those relationships. The five underlying principles of the political frame are clearly present within the FFA.
The opportunities that are offered are endless. Anything you can think of, to a certain extent has something involved with this great organization. It’s open to middle, and high school students, as well if involved can be college students. This program is not just for a bunch of farm guys that wear cowboy boats, its relatable for students that live in town, and don’t have livestock or crops as well. This great organization is based on agricultural education that provides life-changing experiences for its members.
Now that I have been in The Fellowship Initiative for over a year, an extracurricular activity sponsored by JPMorgan Chase. I definitely see myself growing as a person. From advancing skills to building personal relationships with other people , I am glad that everything is falling into place in my life on a professional spectrum. In TFI we went on a trip this past summer to upstate New York for a camping trip called Outward Bound. For Outward Bound , we went away upstate for 10 days in the Catskill Mountains.
Leadership interview I was given the chance to interview Hailey Hunt who has a position on student council. She taught me about her position and how she has been able to help others. She has taught me the many sides of being a leader and how it can be quite trying at times. I have found interviewing a leader is very different from researching about a leader.
