Randy Moss: One Of The Best Football Player

One time I came across failure. It all started when playing in a baseball game for Serra High School. Up to that game we had been undefeated in league play. As the game moved along it got more and more intense. Every batter and runner on base you could tell both teams were completely focused on winning that game.

John Wooden once said “failure is not fatal but failure to change might be”(John Wooden Quote.) Wooden was addressing the idea that one only fails if they do not change after messing up. I never fully understood that principle until I attempted the FFA Creed Career Development Event. After not giving all that I could during the contest, I experienced the worst defeat of my FFA career. I had always thought that Wooden’s statement was only inspire those who had lost, but through personal failures I have learned otherwise.

I would like to meet Randy Moss .I picked him to meet because he was my role model. He played football and I like football. He won a championship with the patriots. I want to get drafted to the patriots like him. He had a son.

Tom Brady played for Michigan in college where he had the role of the quarterback. He entered the draft combined in 2000, and was the 199 pick in the second round. Initially he served as a backup quarterback and played in only one game during his first season, but the 2001 season was a different story. After starting quarterback Drew Bledsoe was injured, Brady took over, proving himself a strong leader with a powerful arm. That season Brady led the Patriots victory in Super Bowl XXXVIII over the Rams.

Failure is an opportunity for some to improve and build upon themselves so they have a better chance to succeed in the future. My junior year at Western Branch was an exciting one with a lot of surprises and disappointments. That year my track team came close to winning the state championship, but with a lot bad performances by the team, myself included, we were not able to overcome the competition. It was an even greater blow when the girls’ side of the team won, despite the boys’ team having more naturally talented athletes. The work that we put in during the summer, fall, and winter felt like it was for nothing more than to lose some weight and get in shape.

These failures and achievements have shaped who I am today. They have made me a better overall person and have motivated me to reach my goals. I’ve had to overcome many chellenges through my many years of baseball whether it is physical or mental. For me confidence was the biggest key in overcoming these challenges. I never have become so down on myself that I have given up.

Failure is a way for one to realize his or her mistake and learn from it in order to get an improvement or success outcome in the near future. For example, Thomas Edison, who was one of the greatest inventors, saw failure almost many times on a daily basis through his works in creating the automatic vote recorder, the talking doll, and even the light bulb. Still, he admitted that without failing those hundreds and thousands times, he might never be able to eliminate the wrong method and found the right one leading to his success (“Thomas Edison Quotes”). I have succeeded and failed in so many things. When I fail, I get back up and try again. I failed when I tried out for Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts. It was very depressing, but I got back up. This year I was trying out for Booker T. Washington High School of Preforming and Visual Art in the dance cluster.

I said, “ I know that, and I want to be on the field”. So I finally moved to wide receiver,WR, and could finally play safety. Coach Minnich would come to me in practice and just say,” Couldn’t do this playing quarterback”.

Failure Failure has always been a part of my life. As a child, I fell short of minor goals such as riding a bicycle, doing a pull-up, or beating a difficult level on Super Mario Bros. Although these set backs were small, I constantly kepy trying untill I could accomplish the task at hand. In fact, I would say one of my most euphoric moments in my child hood was when I learned how to ride a bike. As I got older, failure got tougher.

As days turned into weeks I tried harder and harder not to fail, only resulting in more failure and this seemingly never ending cycle of failure on the field eventually started affecting my life off the field.

I will strive to be successful; whenever I fail, I will not look at it as a way to feel bad for myself. I will look at it as an opportunity to do more and try harder. As Vince Lombardi said, “The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.” I want success in life; however, I have learned that it is near impossible to attain success without failure. Every single success and failure in life has led me to believe in myself and everything I hope to become and aspire to

Failure is vital to the growth of not only heroes, but ordinary people as well, as it teaches them how to move past their guilt and negativity in order to persevere. Through the article Nine Ways to Fail Better, the author shows that it’s not easy to deal with failure, but it is extremely important to move on. The author states, “Blaming yourself for the bad things that happen to you--are probably the biggest reason people metabolize failure badly.” In expressing that one should put the blame on themselves, “for the bad things that happen to [them]” stresses the idea that failure is often inevitable, and there is not much that can change the outcome of the situation. Additionally, there is no sense in feeling shameful about failure.

Everyone faces failure at some point in their lives, but how one responds to that adversity is the real story. One can lie down and accept defeat, or one can rise up like a phoenix reborn and push themselves harder towards success. Growing up, I was always average at sports like baseball and basketball. I would be good enough to play on the travel team, but I would play sparingly. Soccer was my true calling, the pitch was a place that I could show people my athletic ability.

(Michael Jordan)” Humans learn from their failures, but they learn nothing if they do not try to succeed as Michael Jordan explains in this quotation. We must try to truly learn, as simply being taught does not lead to true understanding.
