Preconceived College Before entering college, many students hold certain assumptions about “college life.” The majority of the time, the things people assume about college tend to be false or not what they were expecting. For many students, this could be a large let down, seeing as how they might have been expecting to constantly party. However, for some it could be a sigh of relief due to the pressure of trying to fit in might be overwhelming.

Whenever I think about what I have learned since the beginning of this course—English 101, It always gives me a great pleasure to tell myself and people around me that I have learned something great; something that can make me a better writer. However, I have learned some writing skills based on the course’s teaching learning objectives that can help me in my future courses. Also, I’m glad, because my strength in writing essays have increased. Most especially, writing narrative essay in MLA formatting. I might not be an excellent writer, but I know I have not stopped learning, and I know I will get pay-off in the long run if I can keep the ongoing pace of my learning—guaranteed.

Writing process is difficult to realize since it requires a lot of skills and knowledge. Definitely, not many of us can start writhing right away without having any problems such as grammar, vocabulary or organization. However, a person can become a better writer if he or she will practice writing every day and will pay attention to his writing problems. To become a good writer, I have to improve my grammar, follow specific steps in writing process, and avoid using similar transitional words. Grammar is the number one problem in the writing process and causes me a lot of issues.

As each writing assignments is graded, I realize how much I have improved as a writer by the grade and the fewer mistakes that I have made in them. As each time the grammatical and spelling mistakes are fewer on each paper. I want to share how I have grown as a writer on second semester by being in class and reflecting on my previous assignments. Even though there weren’t many writing assignments this semester.
