The Hellhole of Andersonville Andersonville, or Camp Sumter, stands out as the worst of the prisoner-of-war camps on either side in the American Civil War. The pressures on the South during the American Civil War created an environment in Andersonville that resulted in a large number of deaths. Prisoners were decimated by disease, dehydration, starvation, overpopulation, and execution during the fourteen months of Andersonville’s existence. It was one of the largest camps during the Civil War holding 45,000 or more prisoners.

Michele uses informal diction and various forms of metaphors in order to create a painted idea of how modern-day dating should be, in terms of praising traditional dating while critiquing secular dating.

Pleasantville is a movie about two siblings who find their true colors with the help of others. David and Jennifer fight all the time, and when they fought over the TV remote it broke. Out of nowhere a TV repairman gives them a special remote, allowing them to be teleported into David’s favorite show Pleasantville. Pleasantville takes place in the 50s and is a black and white program. There everyone is happy, life is simple, and there are no conflicts.

Pleasant Bluffs: Launching A Home-Base Hospital Program While analyzing the case on Pleasants Bluffs, the main problem is how will they come up with a proposal for the pilot program for Pleasant Bluffs home-base hospital care and how to manage it. In a film called Pleasantville there are two main characters, Bud and Mary-Sue. They are transported into a show named Pleasantville. Everything in the show was pleasant, but when they got there they slowly started to change things up. They knew that Pleasantville wasn’t the only thing out there. The end of Elm Street is not the beginning again.

Dating. It has always been a major aspect of the American lifestyle. From depicting relationships in magazines, to major Hollywood productions, to comic books, dating is everywhere. Dating itself has evolved, modernized and redefined itself after each passing generation. From the days where a woman 's hand in marriage was traded for land and property to the Tinder hookups of today, dating is nothing like it used to be.

In an excerpt (“Dating”) from the book titled “From Front Porch to Back Seat: Courtship in Twentieth-century America” (1998), Beth L. Bailey examines courtship at the beginning of the twentieth century and how courtship evolved into a new system of dating. She explained some rituals in the courtship system and what social rules were followed before changes in societal views on dating. The setting of urban life itself forced changes on the “old-fashioned” way of getting to know someone who you may want to enter in a relationship. The added freedom of dating in public spaces was explored and with this freedom, money, and power became topics.

1950’s Music Did you know that in the 1950´s the music industry had ¨Race Records¨ which sold music by black artists to blacks only (Handyside 11)? Music has been around for centuries, including genres such as Classical and Gospel songs. Music has been used for dancing, meditation, and for just plain out relaxation. The historical, political, and social events leading to the influence of new music during the 1950’s are what has shaped music today.

Pleasantville is exactly how it sounds like, it is a town where everything is pleasant and swell. The town is a closed universe, where the streets loop back onto themselves. Also, where the only job for firemen was to rescue cats from trees. The main characters, David and Jennifer were suddenly sucked into the TV series. As the show progress with David as Bud, and Jennifer as Mary Sue, things start to change in Pleasantville.

In “Pleasantville” and “As in the beginning” the characters experience difficult situations, making all the things being hard to conclude, or come back for the natural state. Both have something to miss, about the old part of life. They could give up, but they didn’t, because they knew that all the things will be better or get in a good place in the end, but not for sure. When David and his sister went to Pleasantville, they didn’t know how to come back, they passed for big and hard moments. They were differents, they knew and saw things that no one could see, making they showing the truth about the world, because in this ville, the fire didn’t exist.
