ver since I was little, I always knew I wanted to take care of others since this was the principal value in my family. I discovered my passion for nursing because my Dad introduced me to the medical field, and in my life, I have been to many hospitals. Nurses are extraordinary to me because of the environment and how they are actively working. When I visited hospitals because of my family's broken bones or illnesses, I used to watch and be fascinated by nurses working. I witnessed how they were calm with every patient. Anytime they needed help, they would bring someone in to support them while completing a task. For example, when my brother, Nick, broke his leg, many nurses offered my Dad relief by telling him he would be fine, and they all …show more content…
Wake Forest has one of the best nursing programs in North Carolina, where I can complete my Applied Science degree with being fully prepared. Achieving a degree may be challenging with my anxiety about school, but I have supportive staff and community who will help me along the way. They offer services: such as counseling, centers, advisors, and tutors to help me obtain my bachelor's degree. Wake Forest has three values such as diversity, respect, and inclusion. These values directly connect to me since they are always willing to help the community without expecting anything in return. They also offer many activities I can attend or participate in to help me keep motivated and active: running trails, fundraisers, or thirty-five clubs I can explore. I may only be a freshman in high school, but I am confident that Wake Forest is the school I want to attend; this is all because of the ACA course I have worked …show more content…
I learned from this lesson that a small amount of procrastination is beneficial, but if I start to procrastinate excessively, it can affect all aspects of my life. For example, if I start to put off college work until the last minute, my assignments can build up and cause my grades to drop. Another example is that if I procrastinate charting my patient's activity, I can get fired and lose my dream job. So one principal concept I can take from this course is to always give myself little breaks from time to time but never procrastinate where it is getting in the way of my career
Wake Tech has one of the best reputations for community college nursing programs in North Carolina. It is extremely competitive and harder to get into than other community college nursing programs. The reputation doesn't come without its faults, unfortunately. The classes are hard, as expected, but there is little help outside of class time for students. The professors for the most part are great but in every class there's "that one" who thinks because we're a community college, there's something to prove and makes it so much hard on students.
My goal is to be the best nurse I can be, and doing well in clinical can help me accomplish this. I want to serve others, and I can only do this well if I have deep knowledge of the craft. Because my mother and grandmother are both nurses, I am well aware that nursing can be a taxing but rewarding career. They both have contributed to helping me understand exactly what nursing will entail. I have grown up watching them serve others, and I want to do the same.
There are about 205,000 people who work as a nurse practitioner in the US. I do not know about you, but I would like to make the number increase up to 205,001. For many young girls, like myself, want to help save lives and we don’t even have to save their life but just help them. This is why a nurse practitioner would be the best job too have. They don’t do major surgeries or anything like that but they do help just enough to keep someone healthy.
I will not lie to you UNC Wilmington was not my first choice of schools, I was the kid who wanted to get out of the area and explore. My dreams originated elsewhere in big cities living in the fast lane and no turning back. I felt this way all of the way up until about two weeks ago, this was when I realized everything I want and or need in life is right here in Wilmington. Love also played a big factor in my decision to want to attend UNC Wilmington but a love much more than that of any significant other this love is for my school. I attend Heide Trask High School, it is very small and the athletics are very lack luster at best.
'The beauty of a nurse is to nurture without restrictions. Being able to grow up within a family where we always stimulate each other concerning gaining the courage we require to work within a specific health and social care profession, such as my mom recently graduating with a degree as a learning disability nurse, my auntie working as a general nurse within broader hospitals, as well as encountering major aspects of experience within the health and social care sectors for several years, has given me personal reassurance to become a general nurse. Having my first ever experience at the age of 16 of being shadowed by a qualified nurse who mostly cared for the elderly with some form of disability inspired me to ascertain the philosophy of human behaviour, which is one of the major reasons why I've developed an ambition to become an adult nurse. This experience taught me that the challenging aspects of being a hardworking nurse are also rewarding, as it gave me the privilege of providing compassionate care while making a positive impact on the lives of individuals.
Although I am intrigued by the human body and everything that it can do, I have a passion for providing care. I firmly believe that the desire I have to help is what determined my decision to pursue nursing. When I graduate and obtain my baccalaureate degree, I hope to begin my journey in the Emergency Room or in the Labor and Delivery Unit. I am attracted to the E.R.
After graduation, I will be attending one of two schools: Augustana University or University of South Dakota. No matter what school I decide to attend, I will be majoring in nursing. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved seeing everyone cuts, bumps, and bruises. Blood never made me sick to my stomach either, it actually interested me. My mom always tells me stories about how I also showed her every single cut or bruise I had.
I have a heart for service and a strong desire to make a difference in people’s lives. Becoming a nurse I will be able to fulfill my passion of making a positive impact on individual lives on a daily basis. I will be able to fulfill my nurturing and caring desires of helping others. I’m very passionate and fascinated with the medical field in all aspects. I strive for excellence, integrity and love interacting with all diversity of people.
Philosophy of Care and Professional Organizations Personal Statement Grand Canyon University: NUR 440 Heather Reed February 5, 2016 Philosophy of Care and Professional Organizations Personal Statement Personal Statement I chose nursing as my occupation because I believe that it is my calling to help others and to care for those in need. In order to conclude if there is a fit between the healthcare field and myself, I must first ensure that there is a fit between my personal values and the organizations. My values include an environment with patient-centered-care, kindness, honesty, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, and quality nursing practice. It is my philosophy that nurses are given the responsibility to deliver safe and universal care that is centered on the needs of the patient.
One of my favorite thngs to do is sing especially with people. Choir symbolizes how so many people can come together to make one beautiful piece with unison. Being in choir has allowed my skill of music and working with others develop. My intention is to continue to use and improve my characteristics in all areas of my life and I think nursing will do such. Being in the nursing program will allow me to apply my personal skills more and
I chose nursing because I like interacting with people and over time, my people skills have gotten better. Being a nurse will allow me to work with people, which is why I want to be one. I found that even the smallest act of kindness to others makes me happy while volunteering at a children's hospital. As an illustration, a few months ago I sat next to a young child who, as a result of a traumatic event in the past, felt incredibly anxious when left alone. I talked to them for two hours before her family came.
My name is Gunner Bower and I am 21 years old. This year, 2023, is my third year at college and I have had an amazing experience so far. Last year I was accepted into the associate’s degree program for nursing, and I have had so many opportunities granted to me since. During my time in the program I have made so many new friends with whom I can share my struggles and joys with during this time in our lives together. I thought that my previous two years were packed with learning, but this is the most knowledge I have ever acquired at one point in my life.
Ever since I was a little girl I have always wanted to go into the medical field. I have wanted to be a nurse because I love working with people and helping people out. One thing that has always interested me was medical things, I love going to the doctor's office and also going to the hospital because I love to see what is going on in the building and how the doctors and nurses do their job. When visiting a medical building, whether I'm the person getting the treatment or not, I always ask the employees questions such as, "what is your favorite and least favorite part of the job" and "if you could go back would you change what position you entered in the medical field. " As I got older I thought that working with babies would make being a
As a child, I dreamed of acquiring a career in Nursing. I was always fascinated by the amount of respect that nurses received during my doctor visits throughout my childhood. There are many reasons why I chose to major in Nursing such as the ability to take care of someone, the money and benefits that the career offered, as well as job stability and flexibility. On of my main reasons for pursing Nursing is the ability to care for someone other than myself.
The nursing profession to my understanding is one that helps others by using skills that is blended with scientific knowledge, compassion, thoughtfulness and caring, as well as the community. They provide preventative and restorative health care to patients and the community in a variety of settings. The nursing profession requires a person who is self-motivated, compassionate; an individual who will understand a person not only with their biological needs, but also their psycho social and cultural needs as well. For this reason, I believe I have all these skills to be an advanced professional registered Nurse. My main source of inspiration to become a nurse comes from an innate desire to help people and care for them in times of need.
