Since beginning my search for the right college, I have had to ask myself these similar questions to help me decide what school will be the best fit for me and allow me to take in the full college experience. It was simple to become interested in Eau Claire because of the positive recommendations from people in my life and because of the location, which I found intriguing. I spoke to many alumni who articulated the positive aspects offered by Eau Claire and encouraged me to consider it as a great option for my future education. Knowing people who have graduated and who are currently attending Eau Claire makes it easier to feel more secure in my decision to apply and envision myself becoming a Blugold. The college location and size were important features because I wanted to have an out of state experience as well as attend a school that was not too …show more content…
My family and I appreciate the value of education provided by Eau Claire to out of state students and the desire to make college affordable to its students. It is also important that I have a vast number of options to study as I am currently undecided but know Eau Claire with guide me to be successful. Being involved and being a part of new experiences is something I am looking forward to in college. The diverse organizations and clubs that Eau Claire has to offer excites me and will encourage me to be involved and meet new people. One of the clubs that interests me is the Amnesty International club because of the rights it stands for. On the topic of international studies, the opportunity to study abroad is something that I will take part of as soon as I can since I love to travel. These aspects are just a few of the things that are important to me and that are provided by Eau
I believe in people. It is this belief that drives my courage and confidence in a world of cynicism and doubt. I know that ultimately, humans strive for belonging and community; thus, while loneliness and anger may always be in existence, so will togetherness and bliss. In this small nation of mine, people speak at least two languages and in addition to the English language, I have experienced the beauty of the Malay traditional tales, Chinese dragons, and Indian cuisines through years of golden rich and poor multiracial friends, stories, and cultural events, ranging from the Islamic Eid Al-Fitr to the graceful moves of Bollywood dances.
I strive to be a leader in and out of the classroom. In general, I try to encourage others and provide my help when needed, every day at school. Whether it is helping a friend out in math at lunch or being a leader by example through doing my homework or volunteering in class, I try to lead each day. As well as in the classroom, I strive to be a leader when I play sports. As a three sport varsity athlete, I spend lots of my time on the court and on the field working to better my game and myself.
I had a lot obstacle of education from a young age. I was born in Colombia and Spanish was my first language. When I moved to Korea, I had to learn Korean and was behind of learning when I entered an elementary school. When I was in 7th grade which when I was able to perform well academically with the education, I moved to the United States.
Outline how this program choice specifically fits with or would help you to achieve these goals. In answering this question, consider program elements- location, housing options, level of cultural immersion, engaged learning opportunities, program support, etc. - that you have found particularly attractive or well suited to meeting your needs. While abroad, my main goal is to become a more independent person. Most people gained a lot of independence going to college out of state; however, I stayed within an hours drive of immediate family, and an even shorter drive to extended family. DU was also a comfortable choice for me because my sister would be a senior as I began my first year and my cousin played hockey at DU, so I had been to DU many times before.
With an exceptional program for global opportunities, I plan to seize the opportunity to participate in the study abroad program at Université Lumière Lyon II in France. As part of the experience, I would have a chance to use and improve my French language with French families as I had taken it
Where did my passion for teaching begin? Well, do you count when I had my first “a-ha” moment as a 4-year-old girl when I realized how PERFECT my stuffed animals would be posed as students in my imaginary classroom?; or was it when I was in my second grade classroom as I sat front row in awe of my teacher and her ridiculously absurd, yet surprisingly beneficial and influential instructional methods. Well, I don’t know exactly where my love of teaching has stemmed directly from, but what I do know is that is has been among one of my central focus points in my education and career development for quite some time now. I have known ever since those precious moments when I was a young child that I wanted to spend the remainder of my student career
The opportunity to travel is rare and often inconvenient, however, Eau-Claire makes this experience possible for students. I will be looking forward to taking advantage of this rare chance and learn from the
The two most valuable aspects would be supports from the Division of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) advisors and an enough length of time that allow students to explore. Being enrolled in DUS allows students who are undecided about majors to see what they will pursue. DUS gives us enough time to explore around and figure out our interests so that we will not regret studying our chosen subjects. There are around 160 majors in Penn State. We have to be very serious when selecting majors because it affects our future career.
As a native Cuban, I always appreciate medicine very much. I was limited myself to good healthcare access because my prior country’s healthcare system was not advanced, it had limited resources was not organized in a fair way. In this situation, I realized I needed to learn medicine myself and be in a position to take care of my loved ones and also help as many needed people as I could so I became a doctor. This passion for medicine has continued my whole life, and that is why in this country I am pursuing a career as a nurse.
Growing up, I was always told that in order to make a good living, I had to first do well in school. If I focused on my studies, I would then be accepted into a good college, and by repeating the process, I would be able to get a good job. I lived the majority of my life to this idea, and still to this day dedicate my time to insure that I do well in school to make sure that I can have a good future. I worked my way into classes that would challenge and keep me engaged, taking the course with the most rigorous courses that met the requirements for the schools highest degree. I made sure that I remained on the honor role, and any mistake that I made along the way I was determined to correct.
I never imagined that I would become an Boy Scout and, being only eleven years old, I never dreamed that I could really achieve the legendary status of Eagle Scout. When you are placed in an institution were advancement is almost inherent, it is easy to become passive, easy to go along for the ride and expect that, by merely participating diligently, you will arrive at your desired destination. However, as I grew older and progressed through the ranks, I watched my elders grow too. In the BSA, the cutoff for participation as a boy scout and eligibility for its highest rank is 18. Precious few of my mentors made that deadline, all of them motivated and active individuals.
Witnessing the growth of my parent's business from a young age has been the main inspiration of my interest in business and since I have been experiencing business throughout my life. When I was old enough to gain valuable insight I helped my parents and enjoyed learning the different aspects of the business world. Since this time my involvement in business has grown and I am determined that this is the career path I wish to follow. Being keen to expand my knowledge of business, I took on Applied Business, Applied IT and Politics for A Level. Since studying Marketing during business studies GCSE and A Level, my interest has grown and marketing particularly appeals to me as it is arguably the most important segment of any business.
Education has the ability to alter anyone’s future in a positive way. Although some people do not care about an education, it has the ability to impact life positively. As a little girl, I struggled a lot due to the low level of education my parents had. They spent most of their time working and therefore, I had to learn how to do most things on my own. Due to my struggle as a child, I will continue my education because, otherwise, my future, family, and community will suffer.
The way kids learn everywhere differs and can really just depend on their school. At my school, the students use computers to work on assignments and to turn in their homework. But is that what we need? Sometimes this can hurt us by the lack of all students being technologically savvy. In this essay, I’m going to use my school as an example and point of reference making it easier for me to provide you with information.
In a society where technology is the prevelant focus, it is important to keep with the demands of an ever-changing world. With new advances being developed everyday, it is essential to adapt to the future outlook. The problems that are critical today, will not be issues in the future thanks to intelligent engineers. I wish to be a part of those engineers who have the grit to tackle the world's greatest Issues. With an interest in Mechanical Engineering, I could work on many applications.
