I do not know for certain what my future holds, so it’s important that I broaden my horizons, especially when it comes to skills that could be used for a career. I have no idea, as of right now, what I want to do when I’m older. So it’s important now more than ever that I expand my interests on as many different things as I can, so when it truly becomes time for me to pick a career plan, I won’t be narrowed down to a single topic. There are many individuals who out all their time in effort into one thing, like sports or acting, and then when that certain plan doesn’t work out, they have nothing else to fall back on. What interests you about your selected program of study? Computer science has always been the aspect of study that has grabbed my attention from a young age. CS always created a sense of awe in me because of the fact that individual people, with a firm understanding of CS, could completely manipulate technology into whatever creation they wanted. In the same way an artist can paint on a canvas, computer scientist can create through code and each program carries a sense of the programmer with it. The more you learn about CS the more uses it gains, making it a tool that builds upon itself.

One of the greatest decisions one will always have to attain is what career to engage in this life. I feel that no one should take this decision lightly due it is what one should believe he or she wants to for the duration of their career. There are numerous of careers to select from and a commonly expected question should be how do I decide what career I would have a passion for doing. As for myself the answer would be pretty simple, I would decide on something that appeals to my interest, mainly something I would do well or have knowledge with. However, it is in my opinion that one should by no means base their career money factors, because then the career will not be enjoyable or satisfying for there will possibly be no peace of mind.

In the past, I have taken so many classes to figuer out what I wanted to major in. My background is helping people with their finances. I have been in the banking industry for about 6 years and customer services for about 9 years. I enjoy what I do, but I do not see this as my career. I like the fact that I am helping different types of people every day and

I am not sure exactly what job I would like to pursue. One job that interests me is a marketing specialist. A Marketing Specialist “designs and creates marketing campaigns that support the growth of a company’s products and services”(Fremont College). I would be responsible for researching marketing trends and finding out which products are in demand. I would also, “develop sales presentations and provide reports based on information collected such as marketing trends, competition, new products, and pricing”(Fremont College).

I decided to go into business because I feel like I have various skills and abilities that I can use towards my major. I never really understood the meaning of business in America because there are so many different branches when it comes to business. My first option was to study Marketing and Advertising because I felt like in all my years in high school I’ve been using similar techniques that you would use in marketing and advertising. I’ve held school dances and in the process of planning I had to convinces the students why it was a good idea to come to the dance, it also applied towards the fundraisers I would hold, I had to convince the people why they should donate or buy the product I was fundraising. Going into highschool, I was constantly asked by family, friends, and teachers the dreaded question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” While other fifteen year olds at the time seemed to know exactly what their dream occupation was, I had no clue. I went to school, studied, got good grades, but no specific class stood out to me as a favorite. This continued until I took my first chemistry class in my freshman year and my blurry idea of my future started to come into focus. From the beginning, I was immediately intrigued in chemistry.

Through community outreach, National Honors Society in our schools chapter is involved. Being in the club for two years, as a senior, I have participated in countless community service projects as well as obtaining a leadership position; Executive Board. Through the Executive Board, these individuals help organize meetings, service projects and ideas school wide to promote the club. National Honors Society brings new ideas and countless ways to give service to the community that I can contribute to Tampa. I am also Red Cross Club President.

Back when I was a senior in high school, much like everyone else my age, I began to plan what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. The way the current education system is in place, the classes we take throughout our elementary and secondary educations are meant to give us a basis in a range of topics, but more importantly guide us toward which areas of studies would be best suited for our future pursuits. Unfortunately, this does not always work in the way it intends to. Using myself as an example, my high school experience should have shown me that going into mathematics would be the best path for me. Year after year, math had been my favorite subject, and the subject that I performed best in.

For my major, I am interested in marketing or a business degree on an international level. Acquiring this degree as my major, I am opening up the possibilities of other career choices if I decide that another subject will help me reach my goal of being connected with the outside

When it comes to choosing the right major for college students, there are a multitude of choices. It is the one subject we are asked constantly by our peers, professors, counselors, and family members: "what is your major? " For some of us, that question is answered confidently and proudly by those who know what they wish to pursue. Others, however, are not so sure what to do for the rest of their lives and decide to pursue higher education in an effort to 'find' themselves. The career I am interested in is becoming a copywriter; a copywriter is a person who is responsible for the generating the words, slogan, and audio scripts that are used for advertising. They create fresh saying for content for advertising, marketing, and descriptive text. They work in different mediums such as print, web, radio, and televisions based advertisements. They are the ones that help convey the message the company wants to portray and make it catch or eye catchy. They also brainstorm multiple different concepts given the requirements given by the client.
