I hear something in the distance, I grab Jackie’s hand and hide behind a tree. We both peek our heads out on the sides, curious and scared on who or what we are about to see. Two horses trott by, pulling a stagecoach. I gasp when I see the people inside. A large woman obnoxiously talks to her daughter, as her husband looks tiredly forward. The woman are in large dresses with tight corsets around their stomach. The man is a coat and tights. They pass by and Jackie whisper yells out. ¨I think we have time-traveled?¨ Unsure of herself. Normally, I would have would have laughed at her, but this time I think she is right. “I think so too,” I whisper, “We need clothes to blend in until we can figure this out.” She agrees and we start to follow the stagecoach. …show more content…
We wait until they are preoccupied and once they are, we sneak up into the cart and grab two boxes of clothes. We run as fast and as far as we can and sit down with a huff. “That was actually fun,” she giggles out as she opens her box. Inside is a pale purple dress with white embroidery. She smiles, until she sees the corset that comes with it. I burst out laughing at her face. She opens my box and smirks at me at the tights. I stop laughing. After changing we both turn around, when I see her I can 't help but stare. She was beautiful, the purple color complimented her skin perfectly and the dress traced her body, hugging every curve until it flowed out at the hip. “Is something wrong?” she whispers and looks down, nervously. I blush, knowing even been caught staring, ¨Do I look silly?¨ She questions as she starts to pull at her skirt. “No! Um, not at all.” I blush into a deeper red, “You look beautiful,” I pick a pale flower off the ground and placed it in her wavy blonde hair,
What do you think? • Good idea – Diane replied, smiling – Let’s see if Alex doesn’t suspect it. You know she can smell secrets and bullshit a mile away. • I have been extremely careful – Piper stated, beaming and starting the dishwasher -- Do you me to pick you up at the train station or you meet us at the airport… oh, I think she’s here.
CHAPTER TEN Frantic Flight to Yellow Rock Jacob charged across the crest, his feet beating divots into the dirt. “Come on!” We bolted down the far side of the rock face toward the creek, the three of us slipping on crumbling stones until we hit level ground and could climb onto our horses. I was sure Seth’s horse, Promise, was going to barrel straight up the ridge, but she veered sharply to the right and galloped off in the opposite direction.
She relies, "They are on their way." True to my curious nature, I venture out into the back yard;
Damn. I throw an m&m at her, and she kicks her leg up, nearly kicking me in the face. "Oh, sorry! But come on, you know I 'm a ninja.
He didn 't wish to leave her behind. After they had walked a short distance, he looked down at her again, his eyes wincing away from the unsightly state of her gift. With a sage nod, he said, "You should try covering it with thicker paper next time. You can buy paper bags at the grocers for five cents apiece."
B. Ronald’s topic interests me greatly and is relevant to the plights of the modern Native American education system. His topic expresses that he wants to analyze how Sherman put his own life experiences into the story, and how the education affected him. I think Ronald could be more descriptive with his topic and dive deeper to explain the relevance a bit better. C. The topic of this rhetorical analysis to my understanding was that Sherman was trying to express himself and to show that Native American schools fail to educate children. Unfortunately, I don’t think Ronald expressed this throughout the essay.
After Odysseus and his men had made it back from the underworld, they made their way towards Circe 's Island. They were all exhausted and decided that they should all get some rest for what lies in their next adventure. When Odysseus woke up the next morning from a sleep that left him even more tired, he couldn 't tell where he was. His compass was going haywire, and he couldn 't figure out where he was.
From my visit to The Native American Voices Exhibit at The University of Pennsylvania a there was a collection of historical memorabilia that indeed celebrates this community. The presentation as a whole set out descriptive displays that certainly memorialized The Native Americans as well as those Native Americans (The Lenape) who were the first to live locally in Delaware. The objects that I chose to take a picture of were at first very visually appealing. After taking a deeper look into those objects, I realized that all had significant value to this community.
Native Americans Native Americans are very different from other tribes. They eat, live, dress and do many things differently. The things I’m going to be talking about in my interesting paper is What they eat? What they wear? Where they live?
The settlers and the native people of America have contributed a good collection of books which constitute the body of American Literature. Any book written will register the life style of people, their food habits, culture, beliefs, system of education followed, the nature of children and their history. The books written by the writers from the United States of America have registered the expectations, hopes, future predictions along with warnings their fear for degeneration of moralities and the impacts of Industrial revolutions. American Literature was acutely carved by the history of the United Nations of America. In the beginning after a great revolution for more than a century and half America became the United States.
The Lakota people occupied the expansive Great Plains of the north in an area covering over 750,000 square miles. The inhabited region by the Lakota had vast panoramic grasslands with various forests, rivers and mountainous terrains stretching from New Mexico through Western Texas, Staked Plain to Alberta, Canada. The Indians would roam through the hot springs of Arkansas to trade and hunt with other tribes while taking the healing waters. The Sioux indulged in seasonal warfare, affirming their aggressiveness. They were exceptional Plains’ trekking hunters, mostly equipped with stone-tipped spears.
Positive rights as Native Americans, I would personally say they weren 't very many. Now the country has indeed equaled out a lot of the problems from back then. The bad thing about having your citizenship is that they simply will never have the lands they once owned back. Having their residency in the United States in my own way of thinking was just a cover up for all the damage they have done. If you look at the current days some Native American Indian tribes get food stamps and some type of income from casinos.
Thursday I stroll into my room, swing open my closet door, and I peer in to see what I am to wear for the night. As always, I end up closing that door after .2 seconds, turn on my heel towards my roommate’s room. “What do you want to wear of mine tonight?” I smile, and open her closet, “What have not worn yet? I want to look hot.”
“Gertrude, do you know where your room is?” Gertrude stopped giggling long enough to look around and then she burst into laughter. “I...don't ....know....either,” she said between
PROLOGUE People assume that I’m from a wealthy family. I do not agree with that sometimes, but the way I dress, act, talk, or eat make people think that way. Both sides of my family come from a humble beginning. My paternal great grandfather’s factory and company crumbled down on a single day, because he guaranteed some contract and got all of his money stolen from him. Eventually, he passed away poor.
