Personal Narrative: The Change From Elementary School To Middle School

As a young aspiring musician in middle school, I wanted to start a band desperately. Instead, I was known as Emerson Middle School 's’ music freak. I posted flyers in businesses around my hometown and online ads. I wanted to be like Amy Lee from Evanescence terribly, but my taste in music was different than most people. When my fellow classmates heard about my compositions and ideas, they thought it was a joke.

As a freshman the transition was some what difficult for me. These are somethings I think would be good to new for the middle schoolers that are tranistioning into highschool. First keep organized. I can 't stress that enough because if you don 't you will lose things really easy and become a real mess. Another thing is a personal opinion but I don 't think that going to your locker every passing period is a good idea.

Lots of people say that middle school is hard, has lots of responsibilities and you have to be on time for everything. Then I thought there weren 't serious till I actually went to middle school myself. Soon after elementary I went to a middle school that I went to was called Lincoln middle school, it wasn’t a big school, but it was a decent school. When I first went into that building I was excited to make new friends and meet my teacher, but then this lady that was the 6th grade dean(consular) gave me this piece of paper that had many classes on it and I ask her “why there are so many classes?”

There isn’t much I remember from elementary school, I never thought anything I did before jr high really mattered. However there is one thing I won’t be able to forget about. Not because it was particularly significant to me, but because it was significant to my father who always brings it up. I’m sure if he hadn’t reminded me of it so frequently I would’ve forgot about it a long time ago. You see, in fifth grade I had a really scrawny nerdy friend who’d get picked on quite often for being like so, and one day he told his dad who also worked with my father and told him that I would stand up for him when he was getting bullied.

The transition from Middle School to High School is extremely different on many levels. Many people that have already made their transition describe their Middle School experience as demanding and challenging. Be aware that in High School, you are given more freedom and opportunities. The size of the school is changed drastically. You need to come to the reality that you are surrounded by peoples who are four years older than you, adults.

Just shortly after 2:30pm on a Thursday, Heather and I pulled into the parking lot at the new Middle School and caught up with the rest of our English Comp class. I am dumbfounded by how this new Middle School has turned out. I was thirsting for knowledge about the new building yet the only thing I really wanted to know was the comparison between the new and old school’s way of learning and schedules. The building itself reminded me of college campuses that I have visited where the architecture is very geometric and intricate. The building itself looks as though it has been untouched and unused even though school has been in session for about a month and a half now.

Guess what the hardest thing I have ever done? It was to think about how I felt the last 11 years of my life and describe that on around three pieces of paper for your middle school application. Just imagine three weeks of visiting 5 schools, in the middle of the school year. It is the dreadful first day of the week, and the sun is waking up in Virginia Beach at the Helman’s house.

I felt as if I should have stayed in middle school. I did not feel that I fit in with the rest of my peers not physically or mentally, aside from maturing I needed to work on getting fully comfortable with myself before I would be able to expose myself to others. Coming back from summer vacation is difficult, but coming back and having to start in a totally new environment makes it even harder. I remember coming back and being confuzed. Not just academically, but also socially. I would wonder how I would fit in with my new peers, and if I would start falling behind in my classes. Lucky for you, I have some advice for you, so you can do your absolute best in Jr. High, whether it’s academically, socially, or anything about personal responsibility, I’ve got you covered.

There it was, standing in the distance, a tall gloomy gray-colored building. With a few splashes of blue paint added to the dull cement to add color to what would otherwise be a lifeless building. This building was non-other than the one and only Stoller Middle School. I never referred to it as a middle school but more as a prison, it was full of rules that were put in place just to suck away any possible fun from a child’s mind. Maybe I didn’t like the place because I was suspended five times from it.

Imagine a student walking onto the stage to in front of thousands of people get their diploma that they have worked so hard for. High School is a very important part of a student 's life, and freshman year is what gets it going, and that can be very scary for a lot of people. The grades the student gets affects their whole high school career. Some advice for freshman coming up would be to join a sport in high school, don 't skip any classes or days, and put in effort to everything they do.

Middle school was extremely ardous for me . I constantly had to write essays every single night because we read one novel every week. It seemed like I could never have a break from writing. The sheer amount of homework was nerve-wracking because I never expected this much homework. I remember expressing some of my my thoughts in my journal such as how hard writing essays was and how challenging my math tests were.

I have many personal values that I have maintained throughout middle school. These personal values have helped me get through middle school, and helped with many various things on my journey to middle school. My first personal value that I’ve maintained is my religion. This is a very important personal value to me, because it is what I believe in.

However, I was also extremely scared. I was thinking about how my classes would go? Are my teachers nice? Am I gonna have classes with my friends? After I ate breakfast, I got in the car with my mom and met up with my best friend Kalliee so we could at least walk in together because we didn 't have any classes together.

Now, that I have the experience of learning from a 7th grade ELA class, I have some expectations for 8th grade ELA class this year. My expectations for 8th grade ELA class is that the info taught to us will be understandable and clear and that we could improve on our grammar, punctuation, etc., so we can be ready for high school. For example, explaining it thoroughly, giving us outlines, or asking students if they don’t understand. For my expectations to happen, the teacher must be patient and generous, so the kids would understand that they’re not getting pressured and have a better quality work instead of messy work. Also, the teacher must be open and appear helpful to the students, so students could ask for help if they don’t understand
