Personal Narrative: My Trip To Mexico

I am not white, but I am not Mexican either. I am, however, a first generation Mexican American with parents from San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Perhaps I do not know what it is like to cross the border that refrains me from being Mexican, or the color of my skin that refrains me from being white, but my own personal experiences make me the Mexican American that I am today. Growing up I celebrated the Fourth of July with fireworks, and the Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe with matlachines.

Mila Leonard was a nurse in the Civil war. She had been a nurse for 8 years! She was young only 27. Her husband Elijah Leonard, was fighting in the war. They had a child her name was Alyssa Leonard.

She completed high school at the age of twenty and married Raymond Parker a Barber in 1932, she had no children. She had one sibling, a brother called Sylvester. Rosa had many jobs which included been a secretary in the NAACP, a seamstress in a local department store and in the summer of 1955 she attended the highlander Folk school, an education centre for activism in workers’ rights and racial equality in Monteagle

I learned about her adult life in Tupper Lake. I learned that she was the secretary for the town hall of the city of Altamont for most of her career. She was so loved in that small town that, after her retirement, they dedicated the building and named it after

From the stories my mother has told, the journey from Morelos, Mexico to El Paso, Texas was treacherous. From the dirty, murderous streets of Tijuana to the endless hot Chihuahuan desert. My mother and my four older siblings, who were of the ages of seven, five, three, and two, were part of a group of 15 people. They were lead by a guide who knew the desert well and had taken many others before them to the land opportunity. It took 16 days to reach to El Paso, Texas.

Linda G. Alvarado and I share many virtues that are alike, but we both have demonstrated great perseverance . We have experienced strikingly similar hardships. We both come from families with critical financial needs and both of us have parents who have high expectations for us. My dad always tells me that I cannot work because he just wants me to focus on my education.

I believe the term, hispanic, itself does not define who I am. I define who I am and who I want to become. However, I do come from a Mexican heritage. Coming from a Mexican heritage has influenced and deeply impacted my life. My heritage has taught me a lot.

Growing up, I would always shrug off the fact that I was of Hispanic origin- It did not appear as something important considering that I came from a Latino community. Like many immigrants, I was Americanized and this meant that there was a disconnection from my homeland. I was unknowing of the significance of pride many Latinos held in order to have a sense of loyalty towards their country.

In all, Jarica Martarano is a great role model for anyone and is a great paradigm for people to follow. Jarica is not an average person or coach, she is extraordinary. Day 2 Immigrant. That word gives me a label here. I am crossing the border to the U.S because my parents think it will give us a new beginning and a better life. I think they’re wrong. Our life in El Salvador was fine: We had a nice house and we were healthy.

My grandfather asked me “Which one?” I respond “Let’s get this one”. Little did I know that guinea pig was my dinner. Guinea pigs or cuy are not pets but food in Ecuador. When I arrived at the airport it looked like any typical airport, but it felt as if I was in a different world.

In my life ive had lots of memorable events , but the most unforgettable one was my graduation trip to Cancun Mexico. when I first found out I was going to this trip I thought it would be so easy as in just get up and go, but no this trip took tons of planing, the most important part of this trip was getting my passport that took about five weeks to arrive, once I received my passport then I was able to start booking my flight, that's when the excitement started,then I booked my hotel. I took care of all the important things then I started looking into placing and things I would be visiting such as beaches,water parks, entertainment shows,shopping centers,restaurants,etc The day arrived off we go to Cancun my boyfriend,friends and I, We got to the airport early that morning went thought security then we grabbed are tickets found are gate number then took a sit while we wait for the plane

Her hobbies include reading, running, volleyball and water-skiing Body Measurements: Even at this age, she shows no signs of age and works wonderfully. She is one of the most beautiful people to have worked in this sector. She is the pie of the eye to many people. She stands at the height of 5 feet and 2 inches and weighs around 54 kilograms. She has an awesome look that drives everyone crazy.
