There’s just something about Mexico that is so captivating. I don’t know whether it's the food or the people or the overall environment. It is not always easy for me to say that, though. Why? Well, I usually go to Mexico once a year to this small village by the name of Bolanos, Jalisco. The nearest, larger city, Guadalajara, Jalisco, is five hours away so as you can imagine or maybe can’t, there’s not much to do. I have family members in Mexico so I obviously want to see them, but I also want to stay in my home with the comfort it provides. I don’t really remember what I use to do in our visits when I was younger, I can vaguely remember what I did in the past three years. This year was different though. On June 6th, my mom, sister, and I took a plane early in the morning to our destination. My mom wanted to take advantage of summer break to be there for a while. When the tickets were first bought and I was told the date of departure; I wasn’t too fond of it. Departure would be two days after finals and all I wanted was to rest.
But the next thing I knew was that we were almost at Guadalajara Because of a delay, we got there pretty late and we decided to stay with an aunt for the night.

The hours passed, slowly, but they passed. Since my dad didn't go with us, we stayed with my grandma from my mom's side . My mom and I were going to stay in Mexico for a month and a week, something that seemed like eternity at that moment. Weeks went by and before I knew it, it was time to pack my suitcase and get ready to go. I always hated leaving; having to say goodbye to my relatives. From what I remember, whether it was for winter break or summer break, I usually have a good time in Mexico. Like I said, this year was
Celebrating holidays from both countries, each with their own special traditions, I was able to become more appreciative of where my roots lie. From the U.S. national anthem, to the beautiful folklorico dances of Mexico, I am fascinated with the blended culture I
I became accustomed to my surroundings. What a stunning natural beauty filled with exceptional people always dancing salsa as they cooked. The thought of tasteful food like sancocho will drag me

Today I’m going to be talking about my trip to Durango, Mexico. I live in Dacono, Colorado so the drive to Colorado to Durango takes two days. My grandparents and I, stay in Mexico for about two weeks and a half and we leave Friday morning like at 4:00am and we arrive to the border of El Paso, Texas like at 3:00pm. After we’ve arrived to Texas we make a pit stop to go use the restroom and to also eat because once we leave Texas and into Mexico, its going to be a long while before we get to eat and use the restroom again. Once we leave Texas and enter Mexico our second destination is Chihuahua, Mexico.
“We carefully count out the money, figuring out the exchange pesos to dollars” (Cantu 8). I can only imagine how tough this life must have been. To have to transverse an international border, which comes with some degree of treachery as noted above, just to go to a family members quinceanera (as the author did) will eventually breed feelings of discontentment. Many Mexicans despised the creation of the border seeing it as
At the end of my trip it was the last day. I was sad because i has to go home soon. On the there we got to go to a cove at the Lake of the
Mexico City is a place with lots of history background on it like Sinco Damayo. Mexico City was also founded in 1430 by Tenochtitlan’s. People that also lived in Mexico City were mostly farmers and didn't have that much money to own fertilizer, Tractors, Any other type of farming machinery. The Mexicans Standard of living is pretty low for the most part.
A obsession in Mexico is the beaches, people that live in Mexico take multiple trips a day to local beaches because of their design and cleanliness in comparison with some other beaches around the world. People learn more about themselves when in Mexico such as jumping off cliffs people learn to be open to new possibilities and learn to take more risk after they do something once it opens up more doors to do things that scare about the past and helps people get over other fears. At first, when people do something they are uncomfortable with, they may feel tense doing something out of the normal comfort zone and after people do it and feel relieved and all stress withdrawals from your mind. Mexico is a pretty small country compared to the
Guanajuato, Mexico is where it all began. Its where my family cultivated their Mexican traditions. It is a place that is known, for the colonial cities, especially San Miguel de Allende. San Miguel de Allende is located in the eastern part of Guanajuato in a hilly area. An area that at the moment you get there you fall in love with the: architecture, food, art, monuments and the infinite amount of things.
My Personal narrative My trip to Cancun was so good between the ice cream and the pools. That was one of the most outstanding experiences of my life. OH well, I should probably tell you the story. Well we start in the Detroit airport and my brother was very hyperactive and about to take a pee in the car when we arrived.
This would be my fourth time visiting Mexico. Crossing the border is the most nerve racking thing that you could do and I know from experience how dangerous it can be driving to your destination. It was the December the week before finals and my parents had planned on taking a trip to
Following cities include Iztapalapa, Ecatepec, Guadalajara, Puebla, and Ciudad Juarez all ranging with populations of one million to two million Mexicans. The smaller rural communities tend to have a stronger role in defining the country’s collective customs and traditions. The customs
After we packed up all our stuff my dad said” Everyone go to bed, so we can wake up fresh in the morning and get the trip started”. So, we all went to bed. I can barely sleep thinking about all the fun were going to have. After about 15 minutes everyone was sound asleep and so was I.
Some interesting places in Mexico would be the Mayan Ruins. They are centered in tropical lowlands which is now Guatemala. An interesting volcano in Mexico is Iztaccihuatl, which is the nation’s third largest volcano. Other interesting volcanos in Mexico are Popocatepetl, Colima and El Chichon which are the most active.
My alarm went off at six on an early June morning. My body is physically not used to waking up this early, but the desire to go back to sleep was quickly outweighed by the mixture of excitement and fear of leaving. I was going to a third-world country on the opposite side of the world. After months of preparation through fundraising, learning about the culture and environment, getting shots, and praying for this trip, the day was finally here. I placed the remaining items in my suitcase that I would be living out of for the next three weeks and stepped into the car to head to the airport with my parents.
