My Trip to America Some people think that my trip to America was dangerous because I risked my life by travelling around the world illegally and with a fake passport. Others think that it was not worth it because of the expenses. I spent almost 40,000 dollars coming to the United States. I was uncertain if I would ever get the opportunity to accomplish my goals. For instance; attending and graduating university, being granted asylum, and having the opportunity to became a US citizen. Although everything was uncertain, emotional, and risky, I believe my trip was worth it because I now have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and a memorable experience to look back on. First, my trip to America was risky because I crossed some borders illegally. The first part of my trip consisted of legal travel, I flew from Khartoum, Sudan to South America. I traveled the most around was Colombia. I visited El Paso, Barranquilla, Cartagena, San Andreas Island, Kali, Bogota, and Turbo. My favorite place in Colombia was San Andreas Island. Colombians would fill the streets with people and tourist near the beach every Sunday to chat and party. Parties started around noon and lasted until about midnight. The whole partying near a beach experience was new for me. I got the chance to learn more about Colombian culture at these parties. I met new people, tried new food and drinks but most importantly it was a time for me to rest my mind from worrying about the

La Jaula de Oro Being Mexican born, I experienced first hand illegal immigration. I’ve known people that came to the United States illegally, even family members. It was always the horrendous story about how dangerous it was to cross the border by the desert, and how lucky people were to make it to the United States alive. However; after watching the movie “La Jaula de Oro” my perspective on illegal immigration from Central America changed completely. I always knew people from Central America’s journey was long, but never imagined the extent of their travels and how dangerous was for women to make that journey.
History of Bolivia. Bolivia was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1498. The first of all the Spanish colonies to win its independence from Spain was Bolivia. That began what was known as the Post Colonial Period in Bolivia's history. Bolivia's first president was Antonio Jose de Sucre.
My brother has always mentioned how fun the Fiesta De San Marcos is in Aguascalientes, Mexico. One year I decided to take a trip with him. As we arrived I started observing the differences in culture and started experiencing their way of living. I learned how they have siesta time and close shop at noon to have lunch with their families and in the night the Spanish inspired city lights up with all the boots of Fiesta. At first, this was a shock to me since I am used to going anywhere at any time for things needed, but by observation and partition knowledge I learned how to work around those little obstacles and got to enjoy my trip.
As a teenager moving to a new country with a different culture, different language, and being thousands of miles away from everyone I grew up with was not an easy change, however, that was precisely what I did in January of 2013 when I came to the United States with my father. My whole world changed since, and shaped my way of thinking. From learning English, adjusting to a new culture, experiencing my first snow and finding my way in my new country, my life has been an exciting adventure. My parents brought me to America almost 5 years ago to have a better life, and to get a better education.
I was still able to receive an education, have a place to live, and the necessities to one day make my own American dream a
While it was only a fourteen-day trip, I learned more than a textbook could ever teach me. I got to see the culture and the people and I got to walk their
I have no doubt, that it’s the travels I’ve made throughout my life, that has enriched me with my curiosity and open-mindedness towards life and people. The effects of travelling are not just short-term, you will learn a lot along the way, that will be valuable all throughout your life. Being able to see the things from a worldly perspective, is helpful in both the small situations of your everyday life, but perhaps, also in relation to your work. I think travelling is a basic human desire – to put miles between your home and wherever your next location might be. This doesn’t mean that your destination has to be on the other side of the world.
My Journey to America Moving from Nigeria to the United States permanently feels great, but at the same time it is sad leaving some of your loved ones and family behind. There are many events in life, which can change one’s way of thinking. As for me, one of the major changes in my life occurred when I moved from Africa to America. This change has entirely affected my personality positively. Why?
I went to Switzerland after graduating high school. Back then I barely knew myself and what I was capable of. I did not know how to be responsible for myself and my acts nor the consequences it would bring. I discovered that I enjoy motivating and helping people. Doing sports came easy to me, I had a major progress in snow skiing.
Costa Rica would bring out my inner adventurer. Traveling to a different country will make a difference in my life by providing me with different perspectives on the world and how it works. Seeing other cultures and getting a little taste on how life is different between Idaho and Costa Rica will educate me. Also the new friendships and relationships I
