The blonde smiled at them and said, “Welcome to Morpheus, sorry we're late gentleman.” Brock said, “Who are you?” The young oriental girl smiled and said, “We're the sword maidens of Morpheus.” The unicorn snorted and the ape hooted his objection, the young girl smiled even more broadly and revised her statement, ”Excuse me, I should have said, we're the sword maidens of Morpheus and our companions are Neph the orung and Corny the unicorn. The others are just ordinary horses and require no introduction.” “I see,” Brock said, although he was a little confused. The dragon is Longflame and the bird on my shoulder is as of yet unnamed.” Perseus spoke to the blonde, “You talk as if you were expecting us miss sword maiden.” “I'm Gertrude, we were sent here to meet
According to this quote from All Quiet on the Western Front, the so-called "good life" comes from living like everyday is one 's last. Paul and his gang use their capabilities to, as he says, "make the most of whatever comes their way" (Remarque 7). Not only this, but the "good life" is one with friends. Paul 's usage of "we" notes that this pleasure of relaxation is only good with people you have close bonds with. In short, if Paul had to describe how to live based on his experiences, he would say to make the most of what one has, and share it with others (who deserve
The Effects Of War War is a terrible thing, everyone can agree with that. It will leave a mark on everyone who was involved. Either physically or even worse, mentally. When we were told that the war started, I was right at the border. Of course, we were not sure whether we would survive or not. We knew we had to fight for real. We believed in Communist ideas. We had it with our mother’s milk.
The horrible rumbling of the ground started again. I couldn’t look. It gave me distance from my heart and soul, whilst the soviets struck back with old-time Stalinist savagery. The entirety of the Hungarian army was encircled by a sea of red. Tears began to stream down my cheeks.
Some senior officers were in attendance, including our own Captain Metcalfe. Colonel White’s voice boomed through the morning silence. “Alright, gentlemen, your objective is not a basic one. Your platoons need to cross the Atlantic Wall and secure the beachheads of Northern Europe before the end of the week. You execute as follows:
The battlegrounds of the war were as repulsive as my hands, stained and cracked with dried blood that had turned into a murky brown. The acrid stench of gunpowder burned my nostrils along with the smell of blood. I rubbed my hands in cold water but the filth just wouldn’t go away. It clung to me like ivy, and I wondered if the poison would mar me forever. “Nurse Mabel Earp!
There I laid on the hard and rigid mattress, in a room so cold and damp that you could hear water dripping continuously out of the battered and rusty pipe. As the young guard approached my cell, slightly vigorously threw a ration through my cell hatch. “время есть! (Time to eat!)” lilted the guard. Rations are military made for soldiers on the battlefield and are specially made foods inside the ration pack that can last for days on end.
