Imagine, me in a veterinarian hospital holding a baby poodle helping a little girl pick out a pet. The career I am planning on pursuing is a Companion animal Veterinarian. I have chosen this career because I absolutely love animals . I have had a lot of experience with animals because I have had at the least 18 pets in my thirteen years of being alive. Interestingly, I have a dog at home right now and I take good care of him. My dog's name is Sparky and he is a chorkie. I feed him a regular twice a day, once in the morning, once at night.
A Veterinarian cares for the health of animals and work to improve public health. They diagnose, treat, and research medical conditions and diseases of pets, livestock, and other animals. A Companion animal veterinarian treats pets and generally work in private clinics and hospitals. Food animal vets work with farm animal20s such as pigs, cattle, and sheep. Veterinarians’ work can sometimes be stressful, as they deal with sick animals and the animals’ anxious owners. Also, the workplace can be noisy, as animals make noise when sick or being handled. The median annual wage for vets was $84,460 in May of 2012. The median wage is the wage at which half the workers in an occupation earned more than that amount and half earned less.
Some advantages of being a vet are an average salary starting at $65,000, a median salary of $91,000, top 10% earn over $150,000, excellent medicaid, dental, and vision coverage, 2-4 weeks of paid vacation, paid sick leave, continuing education pay, and High demand for qualified vets.
