Payoff Day I just finished a Monday practice. Sweat is dripping off my head and my ankles are sore. We put everything in the shed and I thank God that we were going to the locker room. After all the push ups, drills, running, and working my ass off I just can 't wait to go home and eat dinner. I finally get home and i 'm laying on the couch and I realize that the reason i’m out there is for payoff day. The day i get to hit someone that 's in a different jersey, the day i catch that ball and the stands go crazy. Thats what im doing this for, Payoff Day. I wake up one morning with sweat dripping down my forehead and i 'm breathing very heavily. My dad comes in the room because of how scared I was. He asks me “what 's wrong?” I say “I had a dream that I was in a coma from getting hit so hard and everyone was around me crying.” I get to school and i 'm around all of my friends …show more content…
we were play 29 palms that week, they are our biggest rivals after yucca and i just wanted to get yellow paint on my helmet so bad. last year when we played them a big boy crushed me and i hurt my ankle. i was really hoping he was a freshman last year so i could get some payback. I woke up the morning of the game put some makeup on and a mask that looked very human like and went to school. i told everyone that i was an exchange student and would only be there for two days. I talked too the coach about being on the team and he said i could start next game. i was so excited and happy that i got to have a payoff day. we drove down on the bus too go too the game and i told all the kids about my life in africa cause i painted myself black. they thought my stories were so cool even though they were all bull shit. we ate lunch and had a great time on the bus then we arrived and the middle school field``. we were walking too our locker room and the other team walked right passed us and i saw him, the big boy. he was 20 pounds heavier and two inches taller but i knew i would destroy
It was six o 'clock at the Friendswood junior high mustang field I was playing strong safety and I had to cover the extra receiver they brought out by the snap I was already beating my man and the next thing I know the ball was sailing my way straight to me. I am 13 years old and I am on the Friendswood junior high C-football team I am a second string slot receiver and starting strong safety
After the tryout the main coach announced, "Good job everyone. We will email your parents to inform you if you made the team. We have 3 to 4 spots. " When me and my dad were driving home I asked him if he thought I made the team. "I don 't know.
and I was getting ready to board the bus for a state football game against the Becker Bulldogs. The police escorted us to Saint Cloud State under a lot of care. Even though I was a freshman and didn’t play much varsity, I was getting to see what it was state is like. My coaches gave me the opportunity to come along to dress and I couldn’t thank them
They ran the ball to my side of the field, and I made a tackle that resulted in a fumble that led to us scoring. The crowd in the stadium were ecstatic, I had people calling my name from the stands. I was happy at the time, but knew it was to be short lived, because the game wasn’t over. Their was still enough time on the clock for them to tie the game back up. I was almost proven
I have been waiting since the start of summer for this day, the day to go against Topeka West the school that have been talking stuff for the longest. There was so much hype about this game and it was finally here, when the bell ringed at the end of the day i rushed out of class and got on the bus to head over to chandler our practice field. When we got there we all the football players loaded off the bus and when we got off there was a table of chips, water, gatorade,PB & J and fruit snacks so we didn’t play on an empty stomach. After we ate and got ready coach talk to us for a little bit and then we got on the bus to head to Hummer sports park, it was a loud bus
Excited to be that much closer to doing something I love. Whether I start the game or not when the team huddles up and one of the players leads us in our team chant and the huddle breaks I couldn’t be happier. After the umpire announces the start of the game I immediately feel overwhelmed with stress but it 's a positive stress, this stress makes me want to succeed and prove myself to the upperclassman on the team. This stress makes me want to make every play look effortless and hit every ball over the fence, all these thoughts and feelings take place before the first pitch. All the stress is relieved once again after I take the field or walk up to the plate for my first at bat.
Later that day when it was my turn to show the coaches what I could do, I really pushed myself to the best that I could possibly do. Then I went out into the gym with the rest of the people that had tried out. About 15 minutes later the coaches called us all back into the auditorium and started calling names of who had made the team and, then my name was finally called and I was super excited! After the season was over (volleyball and football) we had a big party, then everybody left when the year was over, and I started eighth grade they announced that they were having cheer tryouts I tried out and of course gave it my all and made the team
Jack yelled excitedly. He hiked the ball and threw it down the field. I rushed down the hard basement floor and caught the ball. I ran right in the endzone. Jack ran and celebrated with me, we ran and bumped chests in excitement.
Tuesday and wednesday went by and thursday and friday were just scrimmage days. After school thursday we stretched and got warmed up then got straight to business we picked teams and started playing I didn 't think the teams were that fair but I didn 't really care I just had to play my game I started down with the freshman and sophomore like every other freshman but i wasn 't regular like them after a few games past the coaches seen that a had some talent and that I should be moved up with the jv and the varsity players so the coach plaste me in the other gym with the more advanced players and put me on a team as soon as i started playing with the older guys I noticed an immediate change in paste I started breathing harder my heart rate shot up and they were just way bigger than me but I had to make it work somehow I knew I wasn 't the best one out there but I hustled a lot and gave it my all and hoped that 's what coach was looking for.
Everyone was cheering and chanting my name. Nowadays, I play soccer almost every second of the day. I have a mini soccer ball that I kick around with. I was taught how to play amazing in soccer, and it gave me a career.
They were fast as the wind and they looked tough and apoplectic, which made me get pressured. My team and I used the plan we devised before the game started. But, our plan didn’t work, the eighth graders stole the ball. We scurried as fast we could to the other side of the field. I was losing my breath, tasted the blood of discouragement, and felt pain that taunted me.
I couldn’t believe I had messed up so much. I had felt so disappointed in myself. So, after the actual tryout was done they would sit us in the hall, and then they would go into the library and they would call us in one-by-one to tell us if we made the team. I sat in the hallway with my sister fidgeting with my hands, and watching miserably as girl after girl ran out of the library crying.
While I was regaining my thoughts, I saw the red taillights, glowing as red as the sun, coming from of my dad's truck and bright white headlights coming from a car that was headed right towards me, as I was lying on highway. Thankfully, I jumped up as soon as I realized what had happened to me, trying not to get run over by the car that was heading straight at me. Freighted and still a little shocked, I just stood there like a deer in
It was the summer before my eighth grade year. During the hot month of June sixty other girls and I all showed up to the soccer field to try out for the upcoming season of club soccer. I left tryouts feeling like I had left it all on the field. Having been on the team for multiple years I was confidant this year would be no different. Then I received the email.
Today, was tiring. I did all my practicing so that I just have to rest and get ready for tomorrow 's game. I get ready for my game by putting on my uniform. The game is starting and the whole crowd is cheering for
